growing plants with CFLs? need help

so i recently changed my crappy cooler-grow box to a small indoor green house, and i bought a new 40W (equal to 150watt) CFL light, and the plants have been growing fine, but I've been noticing that some of them are like drying a lot on the ends and the ends of the leaves are like breaking off etc.. i water them when ever they look dry.. by the way, i don't know if this is wrong or not but the way i water them i just basically fill them to capacity with water, and let the remaining water drip out.. so i basically put in as much water as it can physically hold.. is this wrong?
and also, I've been giving them miraclegro plant food.. is it ok if every time i water them i am giving them the nutrients?

but anyways, i will attach a picture of my green house set up.. but i put the "dying plants" on the bottom shelf, far away from the CFL to "recover".. and I'm wondering is this too far? will the plants still be able to pick up the light given off by the CFL? or should i push it closer? thanks to anyone who helps!
and this is an emergency! my plants lives are at stake! (by the way for the record i am growing peppers, tomatoes, and some other pretty flowers until i can get my cannabis seeds.

How hot does the box get? Are you spraying your plants? If so stop! Are the CFLs touching the plants?

leaves being overly dry could be an indication of underwatering, root issues, or some sort of deficiency. you must make sure youre feeding them according to an accurate ppm chart and make sure you got plenty of perlite so your roots can breathe.

That's a hard one. It could be too much light if those are low light plants. I scorched the fuck out of a bamboo orchid with too much CFL lighting.

Firstly your plants are way to far away from the lights, they should be within 8 inches. Dry/brittle leaf is most commonly from over watering indoor plants. Wait until you see them wilt and the pot feels light. Light weight is half of the weight after a heavy water.
