Papaver somniferum&Cannabis
indoor/soil grow
Flower room 1x600w HPS
Veg room 1x600w MH/HPS
Nutes MG 20-20-20,15-30-15
Medium 40/60 perlite/soil
Alright, lets get started. Growing Papaver somniferum as a first timer. I have been growing mj for a few years and decided i would love to put some poppies with my cannabis plants. The seeds are dirt cheap compared to cannabis seeds and are legal to grow in the US. (harvesting the opium is a different story). I will only be focusing on the growing aspect just to avoid any legal issues.(if RIU doesnt care i have some great harvesting tips). So far this is the information i gathered. Papaver somniferum is happy with the same medium that cannabis uses, airy soil with good drainage and a ph of 7. (my cannabis mixture 40% perlite/60% potting soil). Veg. with 12/12 - Flower with 18/6. Day time temps can get up to 75 degrees(f). Ideal night time temps 35-55 degrees(f) might be a problem. My rooms stay at 70 degrees(f) day and night, will have to work with that. With the nutes i am going to stick with what i know, same feeding as the cannabis, will start off with 1/4 dose.
This information came from me doing very little research so, please if anyone has grown poppies before feel free to correct me. Also, any and all feedback is welcome. I will be updating with pictures the whole process. Will be adding some pics of my mj plants also. Currently have 2 UK chesse & 2 Bagseeds just put into flower. Also just upgraded to cool tubes witch is a MUST if your going to grow indoors with a cab or tent. The Papaver somniferum seeds will be in next week. Then i can start updating with what germination process works the best.
