So basically I plan to start growing around June 14. I know thats a little late but oh well. I live in the south so I don't think that will be a problem. I will be using some seeds from some shwag that I got somewhere around August of 2008. I only have 2 seeds. I've already read up on how to germinate and what not. I have one big question that I can't seem to find an answer for on the internet. What type of soil should I use? Should I use a mixture of soils or just one? Any other tips would be helpful also for a first timer. Thanks! :peace:

find the spot where your going to eventually transplant your seedlings to later. Dig you 2 2x2 ft holes for your 2 plants use that dirt + potting soil with a neutral PH and no FERT+ some perlite mix it together and throw it back in your whole moisten it up and keep it soft while your seeds germ and get big enough to transplant. You can grow your seedlings in a soho cup just fine and this makes its terribly easy to transplant. The big deal with transplanting your seedlings is to make sure the soil is COMPLETELY DRY or chunks of the soil will possibly fall off and mess up your root system and your plant may not bounce back good luck. And most of all dont forget its marijuana it grows in the wild under the most extreme conditions and its been around much longer than humans have been growing it for personal use.

Well I was hoping to just grow it in a giant pot. I'm pretty sure you can do that right? If I do that should I mix in some of the local soil with the potting soil anyways? Also what is neutral PH? And how much perlite should I ad into my soil mix?

growing it in the big pot makes it harder to transplan unless your just goign to set the plant outside. Mixture of soil to perlite should be 1/3 perlite 2/3 soil. Some people mix the local soil with their potting soil to get it used to the soil outside. If your just going to sit it outside ina huge pot this wont matter at all. Neutral PH is around 5.6-6.3 i believe is fine. If your using tap water to water your seedlings make sure you let it sit for 24 hours to get rid of all the chlorine. and good luck

Why bother digging a hole and putting it in soil when you can just put it in a pot and only transplant it once from a solo cup? Also, I think I'm going to use a big container bin instead of a pot, because I don't have a big enough pot.

I take it your growing outside,U need a soil that can hold moisture and holds oxygen for roots, U could use perlite, which u mix in your soil mix,Perlite makes the soil hold more air and helps with drainage. Don't try going for a really low qaulity soil, because it'll catch up with u later on in the grow,an that could be the difference in a harvest ov fresh bud,or a medium ya plant can't grow in due to many factors- soil to acidy,Ph up or down, a soil thats holding on to water causing root rot. good luck

Alright, I did some research and now I know why you cant just start growing in a large pot/bin/container. Also, keeping track of all 3 pH levels seems like a bitch. :?
