Growing On Roofs?

I have recently looked into growing on roofs, right now I am keeping my babies plants on the top of my chimney, which is good, but is a little bit noticeable, i have also thought about growing on the top of my local YMCA, the amount of sun would be great, and the carbon diode from the vents may help them out. So just wondering any ideas on how to better hide them up there, or any other suggestions, i currently am growing in tree tops, I am very unconventional, :mrgreen:, the treetops are great, but are messy to get up, hard to water, so my roof would be much better, i have scoped out around my roof, and found that there is no actually "blind" spot on my roof, and i can see the plants on my chimney if i really look hard, so, so far i have thought of making a little box, and put some sort of sheet metal around it, this is because the cover of my chimney is sheet metal. But anyway any roofs that i could grow on?lol

welcome to the forum, but if you are gonna grow on a roof id suggest a flat roof, why not just put them on a deck or balcony?

Bad idea man.From the air, that plant mass will stick out like a sore thumb in contrast to the colors of your roof as well as your neighbors.Sooner or later it's gonna bite you in the ass...

i'd stick with growing in the tree tops. i live in a town/county that is infested with meth cookers so the local woods have become harder to plant in. i started growing in the tops of some pine trees at a large cemetary down the road from my house. i just take two gallons of dirt and put in five black garbage bags (five so it dosen't rip through). i have these little harnesses i made that kina look like little hammocks to support the bottoms then use brown bungie cords to secure em to the main stem of the tree. i like pine trees cus they kinda "hide" the plant in october. the first time i tried it it did suck, expecialy when i had to sex em, but now i use feminzed seeds from a friend of mine. i have never had my plants ganked on me growing in trees, which makes me feel the extra work is well worth it.

depends on what your growing..... it's hard to say but i beleive i get bigger yeilds per plant in the tops of trees, but up there they get more light. and i've never seen a deer climb a tree.
