Growing Males Near Females: How Close is to Close?

So I'm about 1 week into flowering right now and out of my 7 plants at least a few are surely going to be males. What I'm wondering is how far or easily does the pollen fertilize to the females? I have my main grow tent with my females but I was thinking about throwing the males into a cardboard box ghetto rig separate from the main tent but still in the same closet just to grow them out and collect the hash when I do my bubble bags at harvest time. Without any pollinating insects or me spreading the pollen would this idea work? Or am I just playing with fire and gonna fertilize my girls? I spent a decent amount of time vegging them and would hate to waste them but I would hate to ruin my bud more. Thanks for your input guys.

If you dont want to fertilize your girl, take it out of the house, not even near your air intake if you have one or cut the male(s)

Pollen can travel a LONG, LONG way. I've chatted with a grower who is convinced she brought some into her flower room from another room on her clothes and the fans blew it onto her girls. If you don't want seed, don't keep a male in the house. (Damn, that just sounds wrong!!)

Pollen is microscopic. It can easily transfer. I wouldn't have them in the same closet.. not even in the same house. Put it way outside and decontaminate yourself when you come in.

I tried to pollinate 2 buds on a big plant. I thought i was careful. Come harvest the entire plant was seeded :D If you don't want seeds, don't keep males anywhere near your females.

Cheers everybody. Kinda what I figured but I was hoping lol. Chop time it is as I don't really have a good spot outdoors as I live in a city. Thanks again all.

Yeah and if you're not collecting the pollen to do some type of breeding, etc. and you're just going to be making hash out of it, for sure not worth the risk IMHO.

If you deal with a male and female plants at the same time, you may want to invest in a lab coat to wear into one of the areas, lol.
