Growing indoors and switching to outdoors

So, when spring comes around in Michigan I plan on doing my first outdoor grow. My question to this amazing forum is should I let my seeds germinate and plant them in small pots BEFORE spring comes? They'd be growing inside for a month, maybe month and a half. Will growing them inside for a month or so give them some kind of stress when I decide to move them outside? Will there be any benefits from doing this? Will my plants get bigger than they would if I just planted them outside?

Yes they will benefit. Look up hardening off. Like noysy said just slowly expose to sun and climate over a short period. I start mine inside and move them out every year. And I know many growers that do the same. It gives you a big headstart through the seedling stage and is ideal for shorter grow seasons. Mine are started inside almost 2 months before the weather is warm enough day and night. When I start hardening off I still bring inside at night. Good luck

I should also mention to adjust your light schedule close to the hours of sun you'll be getting when you put them out
