Growing in lakefront type soil?

Hello I was just wondering if any of you outdoor growers have grown near lakes(BIG LAKES LIKE THE GREAT LAKES)?The soil in these areas is soooo moist and pete moss like.The times I have tried it The plants exceed any other guys that I know,with huge stalks and massive leaves!It just seems like its super soil down there and I'm wondering if anyone elae has had this expierence??????????????????

PS:I dont mean on the beach I mean like a half a mile away from the the beaches???

seems like i read about hemp growing wild around the edge of some lakes in united states and geting very huge

maybe all the natural fish poop and vegation being broken down in the water....the lake is actually feeding the soil for miles under and around it......i feed my plants fishtank water every now and then......
