Growing in Coco Problems

I'm not sure there is anything great to add at this point. The problem in my opinion is not having enough cal-mag organics throughout the entire container. Top dressing lime only did so much for me and it wasn't enough.

The only thing I can recommend is for what to do next time. I would switch to a fertilizer like Down to Earth, which has more cal-mag sources. AND also mix in dolomite lime at a rate of 2 Tbl spoons per gallon. This is the last plant I am growing this way and that is how I mixed it....Its not a very big plant so not a great example but I never had any problems with it and its been basically only water and Tribus.

No training or topping was ever done.
looks like a nice plant what was the taste like compared to soil. can you recommend an organic bottled calmag and something similar to tribus since its too expensive to ship to my country. also what are your thoughts on using seaweed extract for coco

I haven't harvested it yet. Maybe in 3 weeks I hope! I can't compare tastes to soils but I have been very happy with the buds that I have harvested.
Mammoth P and Recharge are microbial innoculants that I have heard of but never used. But I would recommend compost teas like Mr. Canuck. He's the master at this. I only used Tribus because I didn't want to mess with compost/nutrient teas.

This guy @swedsteven seems to have knocked his first grow with this method out of the park. I would read through his journal and see if he will answer some questions.

You're short on Mg...a simple addition of Epsom salt, either as a feed or a spray will solve your issues...both avenues will work. I will say, I've followed Cannuck enough to know he has success with his method, but in my mind, he would do even better if he treated his grows more in line with typical coco parameters. As it stands, pH is going to be your nemesis in terms of this style of growing...but don't be scared, give it a try. Good luck friend.

Here's an update. I lowered the pH a bit and I water with 6,3 now. I top dressed her with organic dry amendments about a week ago and have been feeding her molasses and liquid Seaweed extract everyday which seems to have done the trick. I also bought calmag from advanced nutrients and I will use it today. I'll flip to flower in about a week do you have any tips for the flowering period?

Alot of problems come from using cheap (compressed brick) coco.. spend a bit more and get quality 50 ltr bags from your Hydro shop..
The cheap stuff is too high in Alkaline

I buy the 8.0 lb bricks at walmart for $8.00 and every time I test it it comes out at 6.5. Just have to rinse it first. Really I only think it comes down to whether or not you want to rinse or spend more.

I think molasses and seaweed everyday is too much but I don't know. It did seem like I was getting diminishing returns by using seaweed more than once a week.

At this point you are basically stuck with what is in the container. So be careful with how much other stuff goes in. Make sure you have a calendar or something to remind when you are going to need to top dress over the next 2-3 months.

Good luck, and if something goes wrong don't panic and throw a bunch of stuff at the plant.

Yes and if you panic let the pot dry out completely first just my opinion

So, we are treating coco like soil which is why that PH range is too low. Their are NO nutrients in our water.
Why do we grow like this? Because of this guy.

I hear you.

Youtube is the worst place to get grow information. That guy's plants look like shit. Why would anyone listen to anything he says? Any hack can put up a video on youtube as proven by this Canuck dude. Doesn't mean they know what they're talking about.

I have had the same issue with 15 plants .
1- check the root temp (coco) if you place yr pot some where that has cold surface .
2-foiliar spray (ph between 6.0-5.5) (below 400ppm)

This plant looks great? What's great about it? I see a bunch of crispy fried leaves. I don't understand what's going on. It's not just you but it seems that people have lowered the standards for what qualifies as a nice looking plant.

I see nothing great about the way this plant looks.

I have one more question for you about down to earth dry amendments. I've been using dr. earth flower girl (3-9-4) and dr. earth all porpouse 4-4-4) which dry amendments from down to earth do I need to order to achieve the same effect?
