Growing in a rental ?

I'm not currently in the financial situation to make a down payment on a house. Thus I'll need to rent. Do to the size of the op I'm planning, and paranoia of stink appt is out of the question. Trailer = security risks, and I just don't wana do it.

Does anyone have experiance growing in a rental home ? I figure most landlords will leave me be as long as rent is payed (I'm guessing?) I'll probably tell the landlord I've had previous landlords who stole things so I'll need to change the locks. I figure a cool landlord is my best bet ..... And what is the lease is in SOMEONE else's name??? would that help me legally if they were staying there ?

if youve been in trouble and they havent then yes and the house must be in there name..

also if ya got a real estate agent ya get sent different people come snooping but ya can work it if done right..

best way get a cool landlord that smokes ganja or just doesnt give a fuck

Do landlords normally come snooping ?

Say I get a friend to rent a house and simply use a room to grow ganja ... does that remove me from legal liability ?

rent it under some one elses name make sure u send rent on time and that it never late and change the locks without telling them but dont throw the locks away they have to give you 24 hour notice that they are coming and put some additional security to the grow room and in between there a dog is nice too if its allowed

Well I have a g/f to put in her name (yea I know it's shitty not taking my own responsibility but I'm a PARANOID person) and a 75 lb. pitbull to hold down the fort! Is the 24 hour notice a law and do most landlords do this ?

i have to do the same thing... i have a cultivation charge..

its not so bad as long as if ya do get raided dont let your girl tke the fall. thats when it would be a shitty trick.. but appart from that if youve got strikes against your name its a smart thing to do although the landlord can come (they should have to notify you) the police will find it harder to come in if your girl has a clean name. dont get me wrong they can come in whenever they want (police that is) but landlords have to tell warn ya..

I rent a house and have a particular room I'd prefer my landlord didn't go in. :)

My landlord's uber cool, though, in that she tells me when she's coming, and she lives about 40 miles away. She makes an effort to never have to come into the house because she "doesn't want to invade your privacy." I'm okay with that.

Thing is to keep your rent paid, your electric paid, dont' have a lot of traffic that raises suspicions, and have a landlord that lives in another town.

Doesn't hurt that I have a lock on my grow room door that I can lock if she comes visit. I call it my "office." "Offices" have privileged information that needs to be protected, right?

A landlord that lives far away may be the best advice that I hadn't thought of yet lol. Glad I started this thread it's working out nicely for me..... There will surely be a lock on the door, but I was thinking more along the lines of a roomate that's never there instead of an office haha

I wouldn't mention a roommate to the landlord because it might be in your lease you can't have one without paying extra.

Try using a property management company instead of an actual private landlord. Property management companies never enter the premises. Try calling a realtor in your area and ask for rentals. They handle a lot of the rentals for people who don't live in the town anymore.
