Growing in a popcorn ceiling room bad idea?

I plan on getting rid of my tents and running my whole bedroom instead. Im curious if leaving the popcorn ceiling up instead of scraping and painting it is OK?

Oic, just googled. High humidity can peel the popcorn ceiling off. If this is a long term growroom, just do it. It's a pita, but once it's done, it's done. Watch for mold issues!

Yes, its more about the mold than anything. I was also curious if I could get away with 1 grow without causing issues

Just use pandafilm for the whole room. If you can leave a 2 inch gap between the walls ceiling and the film then thats enough to stop moisture build up. Screw 2 inch wood slats into the ceiling and then staple the sheeting to the wooden slats

There is no issue with popcorn ceilings in a grow area...that is IF the popcorn ceiling was applied properly...with a primer underneath. Otherwise, it's a crap shoot but still unlikely to peel. You can check bathrooms in most home with popcorn ceilings where humidity gets the highest and you won't see shit falling.....
BTW....There is no asbestos in popcorn ceilings. Can you imagine " asbestos abatement" of popcorn ceilings?

Huh? Ive rolled a shitload of popcorn ceilings with latex paint. You cant even buy oil based paints in gallons anymore in my state, so pretty limited on what to buy...
Yes as long as your painting over oil base.If its the first time from new latex will just soften it and youll get popcorn on your roller. Now different countries have different ways but IME this holds true for houses late 60,s to late 70,s

If you intend to roll a popcorn ceiling, never double roll as the first coat softens and any further abrasion will remove popcorn. If the ceiling was primed prior to applying popcorn, there's less likelihood of popcorn loosening but care should always be taken. Popcorn is paintable and is always painted with latex.......oil is mostly used in kitchens and bathrooms but not on ceilings.

I've applied popcorn ceilings before. It's pretty simple using a hopper you can buy from home depot and a compressor. The "popcorn" comes in bags made by USG sheetrock you mix up with water. It dries white and can be painted immediately with latex. You guys must be talking about old stuff needing to be painted with oil??
Popcorn can easily be removed ( sometimes lol) by spraying the ceiling down with a pump sprayer full of water, letting it sit a min, then scraping with a 6"-8" mud knife. Messy Af tho.

Back in the day oil was used everywhere. I've worked in places where we stayed with oil base and one of nicest ceilings I rolled was with oil base. It's discontinued in my state as far as buying interior oil base by the gallon. I dont miss that paint thinner clean up though.
