As for PH, I dial mine in at around 5.2 after a res change and let it rise on its own throughout the week to a max of ~6.4. (I change res once every 7 days including a flush with florakleen)
Why such a low pH? I know it starts to rise after you set it because the plant is eating. Maybe its the strain your running

The low PH to start off with is to allow the plant to run the through the PH ranges that are best suited to hydro grows. It's what i've read in the literature (taught myself to grow from reading books, online articles & videos) and have kept to this formula.

I get what your saying. I've seen that chart before. I have a chart from my GenHydro PH Kit and its a lil different than that one

I use the chart as a guide but ultimately go on what the plant is telling me. I'm doing a run with Liberty Haze at the moment and so far so good... last run was a northern lights variant and the start PH was around ~5.6

I check PH every second day and find after a flush it only takes a day or two to come up from <5.4 to ~ 5.7

Yea I know its just for reference but I think I'll try setting the pH a lil lower and see how that does. Having a lil pH issue but nothing too big. Oh here's the pix of the pot and the res

Wow, so much hood info in this thread.

Dont wanna start a new thread for this, and seeing that all the experts are here, quick q about nutes, besides the different brands, what is the best NPK to use for cannabis? Currently I have one that states:
Multisol "P" water soluble fertiliser 2:1:2 (43) + trace elements

Is this OK to use, in a hempy and or soil?

This can start a major debate so I'll say you want something with all three major nutes at least. Try to get something with micro/trace elements like the one you have. So yes you can use that.

Some people use a fertilizer that's higher in N for veg and a fertilizer high in K for flower. It's all preference and strain as different strains may require more or less of something. There's one part nutes and two part nutes. Some nutes don't have micro elements so you have to supplement that and some do. Come down to what you think you will get good results out of

Thanks, so it seems mine is fine. I am really astounded by the amount of knowledge that the "stoners" have around here. I think you guys on here have nore knowledge on plant growth, nutes, etc than moat biologists.

A lot of us have been doing this for years. Lots of studying. There would prolly be a bunch of knowledge about cannabis if the Feds wasn't tryna treat it like it's a hardcore drug which I never call cannabis a drug because drugs are chemically enhanced. But there are some Biologists that know a lot about cannabis and nutes is stuff. Cannabis is apart of horticulture and you can compare it to other plants too to find info. Do a lot of reading and studying and don't hesitate to ask questions. Nobody has the most knowledge one subject

A grower named "Hempy" started the Hempy bucket, hence the name ;) Interesting you never pH... what's your tap water like after you put feed in? I'd never not pH personally.

Considering I have lived in about 4 states growing the water quality has varied. Currently pretty hard water. I have had no problems in a very long time really.... I dont use my PPM meter much either anymore.....

I was wrong though. Hempy (dalaihempy) did state that he PH the nutrient solution to 6.2. Says not to worry about the run off. so guess I am getting lucky

Hempy has come a long way since then with people doing all sorts of variants. So much fun to see the hempy love all over. LOL!

recent grow from my journal: 8wks just before chop

Man you grew some awesome plants with Hempy without pH'ing it. I knew I read the thread that said to pH it to 6.2 but I didn't wanna argue. Your not getting lucky you just have what your doing dialed in and if it works for you don't change. Most growers that grow hydro or passive hydro say not to worry about ppm and worry more about pH and I see why cus if you don't have that in range doesn't matter what ppms are cus things will start getting locked out. You've grown some monsters with Hempy. What size pots do you use to get those monster plants that's trying to outgrow your space lol?

Ive been DIYing my own LED lights too. Got one more bar of 4 to build before I flip this tent to flower.. so a couple weeks as I am waiting on parts from Slowtech... LOL. I am liking leds.. Plants havent been liking the heat too much but I dont run ac in the tent. Only in the 600w hps cabinet. Which I hope to replace with LED if the tent works out. These six plants are ALL led grown from like 3 weeks cloned.

It's not the best of pics but here's my setup. I have a 60ltr res feeding 2 30ltr pots. I keep the res on bottom of tent so gravity eliminates me ever stuffin up and flooding my grow area. I keep ph to 5.7 but let it bump out to 6ish in early mid flower.

Digging the new LEDs. I hope they work out for you well. From what I have seen LEDs are very strong so you may have to back those up some cus the intensity they put out is insane. I'm also diggin the way you train ya ladies up the screen I thought that's was a very y'all plant but it's the way you train. I think I've seen that somewhere before too it's called vertical scrog. Job well done bro
