Growing and Buying is becoming to cost effective...

Guys, I've reached that point where growing/purchasing weed is disabliling my ability to save/hold onto money. I'm not broke, but it's to the point where other aspects of my life that i'd like to pursue are being affected by the cash I put towards MJ. I don't want to stop, do it up on special occassions, but as far as being an everyday smoker is concerned it's really hurting my wallet. We would like to finish up saving for a home, take a couple small trips, and planning on having a child. For me the thing that is least important is MJ.

Anyone else been in this situation.

same here....

i just take a couple days off from smoking. i mean i dont even smoke that much anymore, so taking a few days off doesnt really bother me. saves me money, and i enjoy it more when i do smoke.

Yeah. I'm at the point where I get high. But what one blunt would do...now it takes 2 or 3. I want that appreciation back. I want that "amatuer high". Those were the good ole days.

Yea, I wore myself out in high school on pot. I stopped smoking for 7-8 years and I've only now re-discovered cannabis; all over again! I would never be an everyday smoker again. I grew a single plant outside last year and I'm still smoking off of it. It only takes me 2-3 bowl hits to get stoned and I only do it about once or twice a month. This way I have plenty of time for the things in my life that are important to me (wife, daughter, hobbys, etc).

you boys are growing up and will reach a balance that you can have a smoke and it wont affect your wallet or take away from your life but add a little flavor to it from time to time.......

Thats silly. If you are growing herb how does it affect your wallet after initial start-up investment? I was always in the situation you discussed, never having enough money because i smoke top-drawer herb for last 20 years daily. But, now that I grow, I find I have wayyyyy more money for tax, insurance, bills, mortgage, etc. etc. etc. PLUS- I have jar after jar of dank nuggets to blaze up whenever the hell I want! So, now I smoke way way more, and have extra$ too! I have not spent any money on herb since November!!!!! What finally pushed me over the edge was paying $75 for an eighth of sour d in the city this fall. Fuck that, thats what hurts the wallet.. Now, i can smoke as much as my heart desires all day every day and trade some nug for cool shit too. I just traded the other day and got a nice heady, double perculator stand up sherlock bubbler... stop purchasing and start growing more

Because growing herb costs money. My electrical bill is around 300 a month. Sorry when saving for a home I'd rather put the bulk of that in the bank. Growing herb is not my life's work, nor is it even close to being as important as some of you make it out to be. Growing, buying cannot be a first priority. Getting my wife and I into a home, and starting my family is highest on my list. I live in an apt. I could never feasibly grow enough to support us...UNLESS...I was in a house. Either way I'm giving money away to someone that could otherwise go towards my future.

fair enough, saving for a house is more important than you can grow and pay your electric bill for the whole year with 1 harvest. Try to do shit that will take your mind off the herb

biggravy put the toys up for a while bring them back out when the time is right..family first....

You're right. I've got all my equipment. So start up costs would be minimal.
And by then I should be in a place comfortable enough to grow on the scale i'd like. But for now I gotta focus on me and mine.

Yeah dude, seiously. Have you ever tried growing? Because if youive gotten even halfway decent, then you would just chuckle at a $300 dollar light bill even if it were that much which is doubtful. (I run 2 1000w and my light bill is nowhere near that even with two computers and a 42 lcd) heres what you do. get yourself an aircooled 1000 watter for $350. order some seeds for $100 and crank out a pound and a half every two months (thats doable with six plants at a time in even a modest closet under a thousand watter.). its VERY doable, and I guarentee that in less than a year, you'll be into your very own house. trust me, I know someone, cough, cough who did it.

Yes I have tried growing, and yes a 300 isn't that much money, but when it's cutting into priorities, then it has to go. Guys give up hobbies, pastimes or things they enjoy from time to time to focus on priorities. MJ "smoking/growing" isn't something that makes or breaks me. It's something I simply enjoying doing. It's not that I can't do it. It's just by me cutting it out for a while it will make my true desires come to fruition that much faster.

I understand where alot of you guys are coming from. I'm not broke. I'm not struggling; however there are just things that are more important. Guess it comes a time in your life where you want to see a return on your investment, and not just watch it go up in smoke. (Pun intended)
