Hey everyone,

I’m currently running a micro grow in my small studio apartment in the UK. I’ve got 2 x Growers Choice Blue Zushi in a 60 cm x 120 cm x 160 cm tent, and 1 x Growers Choice Applez and Bananaz in a 60 cm x 60 cm x 140 cm tent. This thread is mostly for a strain review, so if anyone needs more details about my setup or grow conditions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to clarify.

It’s been two years since my last grow—I lost my beloved genuine Exodus Cheese cut, which was a tough blow. I didn’t have any genetics left and didn’t know anyone to ask for a cutting, so it was time to start popping seeds again. I looked around and ended up getting some Growers Choice strains: Blue Zushi, Applez and Bananaz, and White Truffle. I was a bit skeptical since Blue Zushi is supposed to be a unicorn cut-only strain, kind of like how Cheese is really Skunk #1. Still, I wanted to give it a shot as Growers Choice seem to have the farm for this type of work.

In the past, I’d always go with Serious Seeds because their genetics were solid, even if not the most exciting. Their Serotica strain caught my attention, so I grabbed 6 seeds for 90 euros. Unfortunately, things didn’t go well: I lost one to the carpet, and the first three I tried to germinate rotted in a wet towel after 4 days. It was pretty frustrating.

At that point, I switched to germinating the Growers Choice seeds—3 Applez and Bananaz, 3 Blue Zushi, and the remaining Serotica seeds—all using the same method: a piece of cotton towel on a saucer in a warm, dark place. The Growers Choice seeds popped within 24 hours, while only one of the remaining Serotica seeds made it (and even that one was defective, with mangled first leaves). After two weeks of struggling, I put it out of its misery. Serious Seeds did replace the seeds, but by then I was already committed to the Growers Choice strains.

I have to say, I was really impressed by how quickly the Growers Choice seeds burst out of their shells.

I did pop 3 Blue Zushi and 3 Applez and Bananaz, so my next grow will be with the two Applez and Bananaz and the one remaining Blue Zushi to find the best examples of each variety. I’m also planning to expand by adding an additional 60 cm x 120 cm x 160 cm tent. These are all grown under MIGRO Array 2 LED lights in FloGro 500 hydroponic tanks, which use a drip irrigation system where the roots end up in the tank, effectively turning it into a deep water hydroponic cultivation system as the nutrient solution is aerated.

I’ll be posting some pictures of the Applez and Bananaz soon. If anyone’s got thoughts on these strains or suggestions for other solid genetics, I’d love to hear them.

If I’m doing this, I want to grow the best I can. I’m looking for solid S1 genetics that are good for SCROG—so if anyone has recommendations, I’m all ears.

So here are Plant A and Plant B both from the Blue Zushi pack.

I don't seem to be able to edit the thread. I want to add the the first 3 photos are Plant A and Plant B at 16 days into flower. The next 3 are 21 days and the next 3 are 28 days. What do you think I can't tell. I think it's a 9 weeker.
