Growbox walls mateiral

Hi, I was wondering what would make a good, smell-proof walls, roof material. I'm not sure if a normal cardboard would be enough, ofc I will have a carbon filter installed. Also I think it will be cheaper if I buy the parts and build it myself rather than buying a complete growtent/growbox. Any ideas?

If your worried about money you should stop right here.

There are alot of hidden costs and startup problems you'll run into such humidity, Temps, ph, light, ppm, snake oil.

If youre set on d. I. Y. You better not be in a rush lol it's going to be a long unreliable first run if you decide to cheap out and build shit from scratch lol.

Been there, done that pal.

What's your budget?

Hydro or soil?

Have you even grown actual tomatoes before?

It will be my first time. I don't have to worry about the temperature and humidity and such details, got the tools I need B|. I will be using a single 600w HPS and planning to grow 5 plants inside. Gonna have a carbon filter and ventilation system installed. I was just wondering what would make a good material so that it stays relatively smellproof. I will cover it up with mylar after.

build a wall, insulate, drywall, Mylar, that order. if your walls are insulated. you have no concern about smell going through it.

Thanks guys, so insulation is key. Will drywalls with siliconed edges and then mylar from Inside be enough tho?

Because of your 1st pic asking about using cardboard then you say you’ll make it nuke proof.
What’s your budget because the two materials are on opposite ends of the spectrum.
Grow tents r cheap....
Building a nuke proof box is not .

Depending on space n $$$
You can buy pre-made walls , that are metal n foam, they would make a really nice box .
They are smell n sound proof,
But you’d need some skill to set one up and keep it in specs
