So every tent I've come across has either a small amount of light leaks or alot (cough cough vivosun). Are there any that are recommended with none? I was looking at gorilla ones because I heard they are tested before sent out but have heard mixed reviews so I'm hesitant. The toplite 2x2 one had none but when I got the smaller 20"x20" ones they had leakes and caused some hermi issues. So what do you guys order that's bullet proof?

I might have to go for it. Some newer reviews said the QC isnt as good and people were getting light leaks but it doesnt seem too bad just a few glueing here and there.
I was thinking of those because the price is so low for what it is but it literally describes what it is on the box. Theres also not many reviews on em or mention of light leak tests. I'm still kinda debating, not sure what to do haha

There’s light leaks and there’s light leaks.
Pinholes not an issue. The plants adapt. Same way outdoor plants adapt to a porch light.
Tears around zippers can potentially be a problem.
But my zippers have gotten loose/stretched over time and my plants always flower as expected even with a little gap.

I've personally have used ac infinity products for years, and it is a go-to imo. I bought a ViparSpectra 3x3 and a week later that AC Infinity tent came out. Wish I waited. I've noticed light leaks thru the zippers a little bit in the ViparSpectra tent but nothing serious. I do like the placements of everything in my tent. But yeah make sure you're set on your purchase.
True and the moon even. I'm more worried about pollen than light pinholes tbh. Im doing a sealed tent (filtered air in filtered air out) within a sealed room with a little more airflow going in than coming out of the filters, I got an adjustable output. So hopefully its good enough the only minor problem other than that is, is that theres a 55 inch led tv sitting across the room thats on at random hours for whom ever is using it.
That's why I'm leaning on just ordering one, I use em as a redundant ducting so I trust em but kinda sketched by how new that one product line is.

Tents give different descriptions as far as the material used so I doubt the Infinity is thicker.

As far as leaks go I recommend black gorilla duct tape or black gaffing tape. Hell even electrical tape works.
Haha speaking of, I just said fuck it and put bed sheets on em till I get some real light blocking fabric for em. its just way too much money to replace all of em and the hermis / pollination areas are such a huge head ache in different locations that its just not worth 2nd guessing my self, 1 with the current settup and 2 with what i could potentially even try to replace em with that could simply have the same issue again and again. The Velcro shit is annoying, the zippers sometimes will just leak, that's what they do sometimes even on the best tents, I've accepted defeat. I shall smoke my obama kush in peace, not having to worry about light leaks or blowing a shit ton more money on a problem that could just happen again.

Update yeah I went with a smaller AC infinity one 20x36 as well. It has Velcro issues, and some pinholes around the frame so I did the same fabric over the issue fix, but hey, I ended up buying flexible artwork for all my tents so I don't have to look at ugly tents in the rooms haha

I got a gorilla lite on a black friday sale and it has the fewest light leaks of any tent I've seen, and I've cowered in the dark inside many of the tents listed here today. It had maybe 3 pinholes, which are easily covered by tape, but in practice, the light leaks that are going to do the serious damage come from poorly designed zippers with too little of a "flap" behind them, blocking the light that enters the tent....and also, through your vents and ducting. The one thing that gorilla does better than the tents mentioned here is blocking the light coming in from zippers-their flaps are several inches wide. If you use the 3 or so vents that most of these come with, you'll have to figure out a solution for yourself-just taping a thick piece of black carbon furnace filter over top them is "probably" enough. Even better would be to tape a box with a hole cut for the vent and another hole at the bottom of the box, so that no direct light can ever directly touch the vent. Same idea if you use the bottom ducting holes for extra ventilation-those are easier, just use a long enough run of ducting-say 4 feet, with one 90 deg turn and stick some black pantyhose at the end. The exhaust fan/ducting can be another source to check. Whatever you choose, be sure to test the hell out of your tent and make it absolutely light proof, because it isn't that hard and you only need to do it once. Turn on every light in the house, open up you window curtains, and then shut yourself inside of the tent-if it isn't pitch black, you have work to do.
