Anyone have advice on purchasing a grow tent? Which brand should I buy that's not as expensive as gorilla

First thing is where are you putting it? Tents are great if you plan on only using a portion of a larger room, but if you have a small room you want to use exclusively for this use, you are better off without a tent, just install mylar, venting, lighting, and pots/buckets filled with plants.

I have closets...but they have doors and I think my basement would be best so a tent would be good unless I use my closet in my room I just dont want to disturb my lady while she sleep... Although she told me to use our walk in closet with no door I'm just afraid if I do that the smell will escape into my apartment

Apartment is all you have to say, apartments you can't go cutting holes for exhaust. I see the nightmare of apartment grows with no venting all the time in the newb section here. Make sure you have a plan for that before you order anything. A bathroom vent, dryer vent, or window are your best options in an apartment.

Window is sketchy.

Well its an apartment.. But its a duplex I have an entire basement that's extremely big but stands about 8feet with an exhaust port so I'm pretty confident about space as well as a tent...I have about $1,200 to spend on a whole set up trying to figure out what brand should I buy that I can grow at least two pounds

Yes your right but my apt is more a setup of a house... With an exhaust port in the basement and my own back yard where the exhaust port is located. There is no maintenance man..or people
