Grow Tent Temp Issues

Budget Setup:
4x2x5 tent
1200w led (248 actual watts)
2 oscillating fans + 100cfm intake & 195cfm exhaust fans
Humidifier

Region: SoCal

This is my first ever grow. I have an intake fan that’s vented from my window and is exhausted out into a separate room in my apartment. My lights are 36” above my seedlings which are almost a week old. I can’t seem to consistently get my temps below 80-85 no matter what I do. I’ve tried placing fans in different locations. I’ve tried switching light schedules but even if I have the lights off during the day my temps are in the low to mid 80s. Currently I have my lights running in the day. The only thing that’s somewhat worked so far was maxing my exhaust fan which brings it down to a consistent 80 but that lowers the rh to the low 40s. Is there any other way that I can lower my temps without having to spend 400+ on a portable ac system that costs more than my whole setup?

Yeah, youre gonna have to figure out a way to get cooler air into your tent. Sounds like you live in a very warm place. What the highest temp you have seen?

The highest its ever gotten inside was 88f. But the forecast for my city this upcoming week shows it'll get up to 102f outside some days so i fear that number will just go higher.

Run your lights at night and make sure the dark period is in the warmest part of the day.
This is common practice.

Move your thermometer out of direct light.

Don't stress about mid to low 80s with LED.
Few places I read said it’s better to keep cooler temps during dark period which is why I just ran them during the day but I’ll switch to run them at night. Thanks

In a small tnent heat can be contained or exhausted easily. Try putting a small clip fan blowing over the power supply and or heat sink and out towards the exhaust. You may be able to reduce the heat significantly and lower the exhaust speed. In my tents i will use fans to blow heat down in cold weather and up and out in cooler weather. You will be surprised how much you can do with a small clip fan.

Also where you position your carbon filter matters...that is where the heat goes out. It should be at the top either in a corner or centered on one side at the top...preferably right above the heatsink ans power supply. Adjust and see how mich you can change it.

Controlling heat is a big issue with summer temps....personally, I run autos and photos on 12/12 with lights on at midnight, off at noon. Intake is from a cool crawlspace, nevertheless, if I turn on my cobs to support a qb, I must turn on a portable ac unit.....
bottom line....more lights, more cool.
Summers are a bit of a challenge but autumn is commin'.

I've added a window unit and duct the air into the room ...5500 btu..my room air circulation is... 80 above lights, mid 70ish were my lady is ,..and 65 on the bottom pushing air up with a fan..4x4 space built on a budget also

i live in socal as well and using led's my temps are also getting high as 85-86. I don't find those temps to be that problematic unless RH is low, although anything above 85 the plants start to really slow down. I just make sure to dial in ambient temperature, as proper airflow and temp outside the tent obviously make a big difference too.

You got that right.

You can cool the room then intake from that, dont know dimensions and that though.

Id take your tent temp as 65f possibly, have you got a shaded reading away from fans and lights?
