Grow tent issue

Buddy of mine rolled out his tent after being in storage for about 1 year . Smells like mildew pretty bad. I told him to throw it away and buy a new one but other than the smell it’s brand new used for one flower cycle . Has anyone had this issue or corrected it? Just wanted to see what some have you have done if you ran into this issue

Fill the bathtub up with water and add about half a gallon of bleach. Stick it under water for a few minutes, like 15 minutes. Then drain the tub and fill it back up to rinse the tent. Easy peasy. I have to do ours every so often.

Does this bleach the black tent to a different color?

Nah. you can dab some on the corner and see.
Went with what you said. He said fuck it and wanted to throw it away . I said fuck that give it to me I’ll try to wash it. Got a gallon of bleach , some Clorox sanitizer, vinegar and used some tide pods . First I tried to just wipe everything down with vinegar , at first it helped but that smell came back after 12 hours both inside and out mixed with water. Then I ended up putting my tent in the only bathtub I have in the house filled it with water and bleach ( not sure how much I used but it wasn’t a little and not a whole jug maybe 1/8 ) tested a corner no discoloration after 15 minutes so I dunked the whole thing in IMG_6974.jpeg
After this I drained it and put in 3 tide pods (Kirkland brand ) same shit tho and this Clorox IMG_6978.jpeg
After about 15 minutes of me moving it around such as a washer would to make sure I get everything as clean as I could before drained it
IMG_6972.jpegout and rinsed it the best I could , then I did a final soak with just water and look at this IMG_6975.jpegwater is clear as can be , there was a little residue on my seat there as you can see from the previous steps but all in all I’m happy so far . I have it laid out on a tarp in my garage right now drying in this 104 degree weather today so my garage is about 112 . I will post an update when it fully dries out for smell and visual inspection. I will tell you right now smells like fresh laundry.
