grow space measuring 6x4x2, help needed for hps grow!

hiya all, really was thinking of using cfls in my new house, bt now thinking bwt how much it will cost, would be easier with hps.
so my questions are.........
1, how many plants can i keep comfortable in there? (6ftlong x 4ft high x 2ft depth)
2, how many lights will i need for my space, and wattage per light for flowering and vegging?
3, any cheap places that i can buy a full set-up carbon extractor filter the works basically.. (in the UK)
any thing else that will help will be much gratefull!

so please help a sick ma who is need of sum nice smoke and not pond weed lmao!!!!!!

If possible use HPS or MH bulb.. in and out air a big must but can easily be D.I.Y.

Regarding lights.. Seen as your room is so long Id have 2 x 5ft double strip lights for veg, and then 2 x 250w mh for flower.

what are these lights you are on bwt? names would be better plz, and i hv looked into the d.i.y thread, bt thnks any way

Sorry man didn't mean to hijack your thread.

When he says "2 x 5ft long strip lights" he means flourescent tube light fixtures. Names or brands don't really matter but preffereably fixtures that use t5 or t8 bulbs since you more light for the energy used than with the larger bulbs and flourescent lights are good for the veg (initial) stage of growth.

When he says "2 x 250watt MH" for flower I think he meant 2 of the 250 watt HPS (High Pressure Sodium) light fixtures. Again brand isn't super important but the higher priced ones cost more for a reason and are usually worth the extra investment.

there is a thread in the Marijuana growing section I think that is called something like "the best deals and places to go" that has a lot of info on where you can everything you need.

I'm new also so I hope I helped in some way.

Doherty, I hope you have a plan. If this is going to be a soil grow you will be looking at about 1 foot for the pots, right? Another foot for the lights and hangers for HID and at least a foot between the top of the plants and the lights. That does not leave a lot left over for the plants in your 4 foot tall grow space.

You can try using Metal Halide for flowering, these lights won't make your plants strech so much..
Shallow but wide pots maybe an option.?

Perhaps fire up a few pics to see what we are dealing with..
