have you done this setup with a wing reflector, heat is what is prob going to be a issue, what about ventilation if using it, would I need a intake fan or just a good exaust fan to pull air from the intake? sorry , I'm more of a outdoor grower, basically I just want to know has anyone done this setup with wing, so I know what to expect,
I had a 600w hps mh goin in my closet 2'x4' and i did run into heat issues and that closet was 8' tall. I got it dialed in and it came out pretty good. Im taking advantage and have that and a space heater in a shed keeping it perfect for winter lol. But if i were u i would take either led and grow with that, or you could wait and get inline fans from home depot and get a cheap ez cool 6 hood off ebay. ( i got mine for $30 with shipping) OR you could open the front flap on your tent with a fan blowing in. Dont forget to open and close the tent tho when lights go on/off. Sorry if this doesnt make since cause im super stoney

The key here will be an air cooled reflector. I know u said u were short on funds but your efforts will be futile with your current setup. Like others have said, with a space that small he will be an issue unless you cool your reflector. Check with craigslist as another poster has mentioned. Good luck

But the air coming in through the bottom will definitely do that job. When i had my hid i was able to put my lights at 8" from the canopies. Which worker well for me, and i had my inline fan at half speed setting

Ventec is not the quietest fan on the market.

That being said, the offer a 5 year warranty and mine has been running non stop for close to a year. Its a tank but not the quietest.

Also their filters are crap. I replaced mine with a "phresh" and it is a million times better.
Ventech's motor is the quietest on the market, its still loud only because of all the air it moves, thats why i bought a duct muffler and its pretty quiet. I like them. You can go on youtube and search up quietest inline fan, it ranked number two, i had misinformed him about being number one. But still, thats pretty damn good

What makes you say it is the quietest? Not just because you have one. Real facts. Vortex s line is quieter. There other quiet and whisper models out.

Well if you look at the motors in them both, the ventech is alot more quieter than the vortex, my cousin uses a vortex and we could barely hear each other talking cause its so loud with both the motor and the amount of air being pushed from it.

I've been around my ven tech and others. They are far from quiet.

What I'm getting at is that statement is baseless and false. I looked at some charts rating the db on inline fans a while back. I wanted to get a quieter one. The difference from brand to brand wasn't that much.

I'm not saying its a bad fan, I'm saying it is not the quietest fan on the market. I will also say the few extra decibles I would save with another brand doesn't warrant a new purchase.

I guess my info is outdated. They were quiet at the time i purchased mine. You talking about the vortex s-line?

Yes.

Its not a big deal. The db difference between the models wasn't that much. An inline fan is old technology. The technology can only go so far. Pretty much any well built fan will perform and sound like any other.

The vortex is just an insulated fan. It has sound deadner in it. You could do the same by building a box around any fan for cheaper.

I agree with what you said about the air. That is where most of the noise comes from. I got about 12 foot of dryer duct and home made muffler hanging on the back of my cab to quieten it.

I took the ven tech filter apart, cut a hole in the end cap, a stuffed where the carbon used to be with cotton. Diy muffler. I don't like to spend money if I don't have to. Lol.

Oh ok, i didn't know they made fans that were insulated, i thought it was just thick cheap plastic lol. Its pretty quiet with the ventech muffler too. I was thinking to get insulated ducting so it can be even quieter. I'll look into the vortex fan. Sounds fun to have, could put it in the garage cause everyone smokes in there and the smoke seaps through the floor and gives all the non tokers raging headaches upstairs.

I find that when using an equal input and exhaust fan/blower makes less noise because the blowers/fans are working half as hard. I don't like noisy anything in my grow op.

When the temps drop down to -50F I put the intakes over the hps's and move the exhaust to canopy level:)

Does anyone have advice on the best setup to grow multiple plants and strains with good yields by using only 1 area? I have a lot of seeds, but I'm mainly concerned about light cycle and cloning, like if I should do 12/12 all the time or incorporate veg times for about 6 weeks at a time in between 12/12 cycles. Or simply breed strains to make lots of seeds? Thanks

Hang a light proof curtain between the plants and get a second light. Get clones going and just stagger them into the flower room.

Just get a small computer fan it will work fine and cheap. Will work fine for 2 x400 or 2x600 that's all u need
