So i got a job and an income i figured its gonna cost me between 500-600$ for a 3 x 3 tent with a 300 cfm 6 inch TD fan very silent happy i found, phresh carbon filter 4 inches since smell will get absorbed easily for one plant in scrogg. A 400 watt HPS/MH combo with cooling tube and ducting for fan.
Some links please help a fellow out if you guys think this is ok. I will be venting the air out a window which is why i purchased a 300 cfm fan with 200 cfm filter because of the loss along the ducting. The tent which is really not even a tent but OSB wood made into a 3 by 3 with a door. I plan to use reflectix for the reflective material but my only issue is how would i orient the 3 materials so the air passes efficiently through the filter cooltube and out the window which is close to my box around 1 foot away, Cheers all.

I use intake as well as exhaust. I also hook them to a reverse relay and normal thermostat. I set my air in-out system at 80f to cut in. So when the thermostat is off the relay is in the on position. Reverse thermostat fan control systems are very expensive. I am using a baseboard heater thermostat and a cheap glass thermometer and the reverse relay to control the temp/fans, which is much cheaper.

I would vent the cooltube separate from the grow. And I'd hook the cooltube fan(s) into a normal relay controled by the light timer, radial fan etc.

Holy balls thats one expensive fan. Looks nice though. If I'm seeing this right though you have a 6 inch fan and only a 4 inch filter? I've never seen a fan like that before but I understand Phresh is supposed to be a top of the line filter. Looks like a good price on the light gig man. I know Apollo seems to be on the lower end of the price scale but all in all you have enough there to start having some fun with.
Good luck

Opt for the 6" filter if you can, otherwise you are restricting the air flow from that gangster fan. You can orient the ducting through the cool tube in a straight line and then through the carbon filter. Try not to put too many 90 degree bends in the ducting, and if you need to pick up a 6" elbow. You have a great beginner setup there.

One thing about the S&P fan is it's low noise level. In general when dealing with exhaust one should be careful using more CFM than your filter is rated for, this can result in odor escape issues. I doubt this will be an issue as the static losses should do a number on cfm since that fan design copes with static pressure losses less effectively than more noisy centrifugal fans. I doubt odor escape will be a problem. Heat issues could happen depending on intake differential and on cubic footage. You are in the ballpark though. Let us know how it test runs.

Cool thanks guys i can just get a regular 6 inch carbon filter then the phresh ones are fucking expensive for 6 inch thats why i opted 4 inch, the issue is that the 6 inch carbon filters are like 400 cfm and up , should i just stick with the 4 inch 200 cfm and just reduce ducting ? Since my fan is 300 something cfm i was thinking if i seperate it a bit from the 200 cfm filter with ducting the pressure should adjust and be able to regulate the air and odor while still blowing hot air out of the cool tube into ducting and out the window along with all the smell. Anyway thanks for all the help if i had my own place i would get inline fan lol :)

It's best not to use the reducer, but for the 1 400w setup you have you won't have to play around with it as much to get the temperature dialed in. You'll notice as you begin to grow there is always some newer pricier equipment you'll want to buy, but won't have the budget for yet. I would recommend holding off on the carbon filter until the 6" is in your budget. For 1 plant there is almost no need for one at all until late flower unless you have a super skunky variety.

Yeh i got pineapple chunk that shit stinks like dead bodies sprayed with skunk. But one fan definitively will help and the large grow for scrogg should help make the buds big and thick, im going all organic no chemicals or liquids and i mean straight organic like compost tea nothing essentially in a bottle. The other reason im getting such a good 4 inch is because i live with parents silly, and the smell cannot go out of the box, they wont bust the box open as i pay rent and have privacy but they will come in if they smell weed lol. Anyway im using OSB for the setup because its cheap and heat resistant, but i would like some replies from others if you can.
