Grow Room Set Up

I am in the process of turning my walk in closet to a grow room. This is what I have. I would appreciate any input.

Size: 6x5 ft

Lights: 1-400w HPS & 1-1000w HPS

Fans: 2 Oscillating

Inline Fan: 190 CFM + Carbon filter. I found it really cheap online.

Questions:

1) I would like another fan since I have the 190 CFM should I get another 190 CFM or a bigger one? Any recommendations?

2) The closet closes with a door. I have cut 4 inch holes for the ducting that is then extended to window. Do I need some type of intake fan or are the 2 inline fans enough?

I would personally go with two 600's. Just because of how much heat that 1000 watt will put out and how shitty a 400 watt is compared to a 600. (Before someone says otherwise, I own both. so fuk off). I would also get a much larger fan and use it to exchange new air every minute or so. Thus requiring at least 240CFM 6x5x8. Use the other fan to take heat from the two lights. That way you need no intake fan and it create negative pressure.

By what I have, I mean I already own them, not what I plan on getting. I also have a 600w HPS light. What do you mean by "exchange new air every minute or so" how is that done?

1. Id get a 6'' vortex to cool the 1k.
2.4'' holes should be made to 6'' and run 6'' ventilation. your doing passive intake so no intake fans needed.

Thanks.

Would the 6'' vortex fan (450 CFM) be enough for the 1400w total? I also have the 190 CFM inline carbon filter combo but, I am using that more for the smell.

"4'' holes should be made to 6'' and run 6'' ventilation. your doing passive intake so no intake fans needed."

Sorry if I misunderstood but, you cut 4" holes and squeeze 6" ducting through?

You misunderstood me or i misundertood you..lol..So you cut 4'' holes in the door right? I would have made the holes 6'' for 6'' ventilation. Are these holes in the door intake holes? If so they need to be 2x the size of the exhaust to make passive intake work properly.

Vortex 6'' will cool a 1k and 400hps as long as the ambient temps arent over 80f and the ventilation system is not full of bends pretty nicely.

Cool tube? Are you trying to grow Vert style? Do you own any hoods yet? Whats the plan for a Veg room, you got that 600hps that can run a digilux MH 600 if its a digital ballast or a conversion MH if its a magnetic for Veg?

If it was me though Id buy another 1k and a 8'' Valuline fan with not cheap carbon filter like a Phresh 8x39 and 2 blockbuster hoods, all one system. Would rock in your room!!!

You know I'm glad you said this because I've been debating the best way to vent my 5x5 gorilla tent. Right now I have a 400cfm inline with the 2 6's and the filter. Stupid.... I should put something small inline (200ish cfm) to clear the lights & pull tent-top heat since the line is like 10 CF total lmao! I'll throw the 400cfm as a cool air intake and that'll force the cool in and hot out!!

The fan I have right now is a 4" inline fan/carbon filter combo. The hole was made so that I could run the ducting through it to stick out of my window. Other than the hole for ducting and about 1 inch clearance at the bottom to run cords through, the room is completely sealed off. If I get a 6" inline fan I will make the hole 6" to fit the ducting.

A bit more clear:

For the small grow I have going now it is a.

-400w HPS no cooltube.

-Carbon filter -> Inline fan -> Ducting that goes through the 4 inch hole.

So, I have no intake?

EDIT: after looking at some pics it seems people do the passive intake using running the ducting across with a cool tube. The only place I can have holes is the door, I guess I would need a regular intake fan? Do I even need it?

So the holes you cut in the door already are for your exhaust gotcha. Stick a 12x12 vent with vent covers on each side with something between them so light doesnt leak in/out the bottom of the door for intake. No intake fan on passive intake.

Awesome, any preference in what to use in between? would a simple dark towel work?

You can buy black foam filters at Lowes by the Heat/AC filters. I think a towel would restrict.
