Grow Room Ideas Please Help.

Hey Roll, Im looking to start a new room in my house. A roommate of ours has moved out and we are planing on taking over his old room for our new Grow location. We have a ton of old Lights ranging from 4wall T5 sets, 2k-75k CFL's, and a 1000k HPS in a Vented hood. We are looking to move all this equip into one 10x12 about room. What im asking from you guys, if you would happen to know if throwing A lot of CFLS like 15 or so in different spectrums and then for a Bloom i would throw in the HPS for the 12/12 switch.

is there ever a possibility that there could be to much light? or maybe some would just not help? confused. please help

Also Putting a mesh rack on the ceiling in order to hang lights anywhere. But realistically im wondering if i put a TON of CFLS hanging in the room. is that sufficient light? is there a point of to much light?

Light isn't the only thing you have to worry about man, think about the other stuff too.

a 1kw hps could cover 40-50sq.ft max. you can add cfl's in veg too much light is when the heat is unbearable.

thanks guys, I have a Ton of nutes and other supplies from our other room. Moving into this room is like "Expanding" what we currently have. same nutes. i wanna add maybe some soil plants to go along with a DWC to our 6 pot current hydro. i got a 600 cfm Inline that i picked up from a friend and it is a little much for the current room so we decided instead of moving into that room we would just utilize it for expanding. good idea ya?

The room faces the back yard of the house, and we live in a Old folks section of town. We have our of Medical cards under our state laws and want more yield. do you think i could Blast the whole room with CFL's for Veg and then add in the 1k hps? along with the CFL for spectrum while in bloom? or wut?>

Thanks again guys, i know its kinda a noob question but i just don't feel comfortable moving girls into the room and possibly harming them.

I think if you took a little more time to do some preperation it will pay off. lighting isn't the only issue, with the HPS you are going to have to find something to exhaust that heat. Also, if I had that kind of space I would divide the room into 2 sections with some thick curtains or something. Do your cloning / germinating in the closet (If you divert some warm air from your lights in to there you can keep it warm w/o a heat pad), do your vegging in the larger section, and your flowering in a smaller section. If you do it right you can have 6-7 plants flower at a time with 1 finishing (and being replaced with one from the veg room) every week. This is going to be better for you than simply vegging the whole room and then switching over and flowering the whole room.

I am assuming that you know that you have to completely black out those windows with something.

Ventilation and temp are going to be your big problems.

I don't think i follow. Is this the only room your growing in or is it an expansion? I would also divide the room in half with panda film. Also panda film or use heavy tarps tapped to the floor to protect it.

I would dividethe room in half and use the one half to veg and mother with 2 4x4 t5 lights. I would sell the rest of the t5s you have and buy another 1k and hps bulb. Put that 6" fan inline with the two 1ks. Intake and exhaust coming from and leaving the room. You may be able to keep the heat in check by just keeeping the air moving trough the entire room (movement between the two sides) but really not enough info to tell you completely.

sounds and looks like it could be a righteous little grow room, why are you pumping the brakes??? if you need advice or help i can give it in spades.
