hi ya peeps. i have been looking all night for a fan to cyclate the air in my grow room. does any body now were i can get a small hanging fan from.
Gee, what d'ya want, folks. Perfect solution. No Floor Space! If I can find one, it's done. For $15 bucks at family dollar you can get a 20 inch floor model oscalating fan ,when you assemble the fan leave the bottom leg supports unattached, this will leave you with a nice 2x2 peice of metal at the bottom of the adjustable height post, the metal peice will allready have 4 holes pre drilled in it for attachment to the legs you left off durring assembly.
Take the fan & turn it upside down & screw the 2x2 plate to a joist in the ceiling, mounting this way takes up zero floor space & the fan can be pointed up or down & will still oscalate to move air around the room, the best part about using this method is that as your plants grow taller you can raise the fan height by adjusting the height post instead of remounting the fan.
It works excellent,in going on about 8 or 9 months with my family dollar fans hanging upside down like that,i'll try to popst a pic this evening, they are pretty good fans & they move a hell of a lot more than a box fan.Gee, what d'ya want, folks. I've had a few of those 5$ W-Mart fans . . . very short life. End up spending more AND you have to go back to frickin' W-Mart. No thanks.
raid a pc case for the power and fan
Cmon, those lil things are just silly, they dont move anywhere enough air, remember they are designed to circulate air in a pc case, maybe 3 cubic feet !.raid a pc case for the power and fan

If you have very limited space a tower fan would work but they are not very powerfull at all,so far the strongest & most versitile fans ive found are 20 inch oscalating pedestal fans.what about oscillating tower fans?
A very old thread I know. But has anyone any information on these rails the fans seem to be on? I have a wall mounted fan that moves alot of air, but the ability to move it vertically would save me lots of money. Here's a few pics of how to mount them.
I just got a 12 inch box fan and hung it with one of those yo-yo hangers they give you with the lights at htg supply - now I can move it up or down as needed.A very old thread I know.
