wall mart?

Buy a fan and some screws...

I assume you could figure out the rest

I havent seen any hanging fans for retail... but then again, i'd never been on the look out for them either.

I've got a box fan hangin' from one of those larger yellow-something-covered hooks.
Only caught my hair once . . . and banged my head a couple of times.
But I've got a wood ceiling.

Yeah yeah... Vinyl covered Ceiling hooks are perfect to hang anything... They literally screw right into where ever your putting them

Just go with Mr.Fishy's idea

** Vinyl covered hooks are also a great idea for fans... they can hold heavy things such as bikes and ladders... which you wont need, but at least you know they're reliable for heavier things...

For $15 bucks at family dollar you can get a 20 inch floor model oscalating fan ,when you assemble the fan leave the bottom leg supports unattached, this will leave you with a nice 2x2 peice of metal at the bottom of the adjustable height post, the metal peice will allready have 4 holes pre drilled in it for attachment to the legs you left off durring assembly.

Take the fan & turn it upside down & screw the 2x2 plate to a joist in the ceiling, mounting this way takes up zero floor space & the fan can be pointed up or down & will still oscalate to move air around the room, the best part about using this method is that as your plants grow taller you can raise the fan height by adjusting the height post instead of remounting the fan.

$15?!? Walmart had a sale last week, I got a 5" fan on a clip for $5 CAD. EACH.

I got three for the $15. ;-)

They're cheap made in china fans, but they have a hi/lo switch and you can clip em anywhere provided you can tack up the power wire somehow. :-)

Gee, what d'ya want, folks. Perfect solution. No Floor Space! If I can find one, it's done.
I've had a few of those 5$ W-Mart fans . . . very short life. End up spending more AND you have to go back to frickin' W-Mart. No thanks.

It works excellent,in going on about 8 or 9 months with my family dollar fans hanging upside down like that,i'll try to popst a pic this evening, they are pretty good fans & they move a hell of a lot more than a box fan.

Is it just me or did manufacturers pull some goofy shit with new box fans, all the ones ive bought dont push shit for air compared to the oscalating fans.

Ain't just you . . . it's like they want you to run it on "hi" all the time, and that's no good, at least for these purposes.
Must have something to do w/the blade pitch?

what about oscillating tower fans?
If you have very limited space a tower fan would work but they are not very powerfull at all,so far the strongest & most versitile fans ive found are 20 inch oscalating pedestal fans.

i got a 40 inch tall oscillating tower fan with three settings and a built in timer. I think it works great and moves a lot of air. All for 25 dollars made by Lasko.

A very old thread I know. But has anyone any information on these rails the fans seem to be on? I have a wall mounted fan that moves alot of air, but the ability to move it vertically would save me lots of money.

I just got a 12 inch box fan and hung it with one of those yo-yo hangers they give you with the lights at htg supply - now I can move it up or down as needed.

Just a tip
