If reliant on sub standard trade skills, any method is likely to be poorly executed.

The tourniquet idea was entertaining. Perhaps drill the foundation for 1/4" pin anchors? Still stuck with plywood exposed to weather. At least wrap it in plastic.

Well then look at my back post epoxy holes and rebar is the PROPER way to join a new and exisintg slab
im a journeyman in my trade
and although not a concrete expert I have worked with them on projects

Yeah I agree with you, my buddy does pours for stadiums and other mega projects like that, and he told me the same thing, for a addition to a house I have down south. Posts with epoxy.

yeh i know how smartass. did it for over 45 years and retired. from the bottom to the top i have done it all in CBC. for the uninformed, that's a type of const that utilizes both concrete and blocks and even steel.
it's kind of my specialty. i know it seems hard if you don't know how but believe me it's really not that hard for someone with some sense. just because you don't know how to work with conc or block don't assume no one else can. people with less brains than you do it all the time

I told him how to do it the RIGHT WAY and I told him the EASY WAY which is plywood insulation, some sealant and can of foam

Unless he is going to drill holes

(Which if hes never run a hammer drill he risk break out)
and epoxy rebar in there to hold the plug he pours

it will crack
become a WATER entry point
leak co2 and weed smell

yes the are plenty of slab and ccb walls BUT NO WALLS WITH ONE 2X2 CHUNK OF BLOCK

But I deal with both structural and finish aspects
and what I install gets utilized every day

oh ok. well, i was a form carpenter for 20 years. no shit. worked directly with the masons on the scaff. i've been a super since 93. hospitals, churches, schools, you know comm/ind. i built for the corp from 2004-10. us army installations in 3 countries. i know how to do concrete, honestly.
