Grow-offs?

I'd give it a crack for sure. I am the worst ever at feeding liquids and small pots though so it'll be an excuse for me to pick up my game in that department.

The last solo cup challenge I followed, I'm pretty sure @Rurumo grew a plant that rivaled some of mine in 2 gallon pots lol. Blew my mind.

I've got sour diesel autos, Nepali regs, super lemon haze and white widow seeds here itching to pop.

I participated in several beer cup challenges
The issue was that folks cheated like thieves
Planting in soil you had no chance as the would grow in hydro/coco and repot down when pics were taken
It’s a dog eat dog world
I gave up
Make them unpot it and show root mass at the end to confirm they’re not cheating.

Yeah let’s set some ground rules and do it. I’m definitely in. I’ll donate seeds if that’s something everyone would be interested in. So we could all be on the same playing field.

Looks like it's just ending, I'd love to see a grow off with prizes organized with sponsors and the like. Everyone I've seen attempt it ends up falling off the planet

Is it limited to soil and autos?

I grow in coco with photo period, but I'm looking for a winter project.

Seems like there's enough interest to start one for sure! I guess my preference on auto vs photoperiod would be photoperiod, but we would all need the same genetics if we want it to truly be somewhat of a competition.

Let's make a tally of photo vs auto and then get a vendor to work with to get fem seeds

I've been in 6 grow comps online. I feel the only comp worth playing in or worth following is when everyone is growing the same strain.
I found solo cup comps are best if the grower is playing to improve their skills as a grower. Players who are in it for the prizes are not going to enjoy it if there are rules that can be broken. Major fights have broken out when someone feels another player is cheating. My favorite comp is growing the same seeds with no rules aside from a start and end date and the requirement to post pics every week. It's hard to cheat when there are no rules.
