Grow journal 2 x 400 hps

Good day guys so I've notice that there isn't alot on 400watt hps lights and ppl alway suggest 600 watt and 1000watt hps....which I agree with that statement ... But what if you only have 2x400 watt mh/hps at your disposal and don't have the budget to buy bigger wattage... Well in this grow I am gonna grow 8 trees in which I will use 1 400 watt mh for veg and 2 400 watt hps for flower and see my final results..... Feel free to all your comments and feed back as I'm going along.....

Let call this day 1 of veg which was basically 2 days ago as there wer clones and just started a showing a few roots.

water the entire grow bag, drench it, and let it drain. then dont water again until its dry. looking ok so far

There's a thread for 400 users (club 400?), but you are right they are not as common as they once were.

Im sure @jondamon would appreciate you posting in there as well, he gets a bit lonely :bigjoint:

Good day my fellow grows been doing some topping and lst to these guys, but will be leaving them for atleast a week before I attempt anything more. I'm 2 weeks a few days into this grow and the plants are looking amazing. I had a issue with 1 of them but looks to be getting stronger. Let me know what you guys think would like some feed back....

You guys gonna hate me so I've been talking to a few growers they tell me that I should try mix the lighting up with 1 mh and 1 hps during flowering.... This is my last run with these 400 babies so I was actually thinking of doing this and rotating the bulbs every water which is every 3 days....

So 2m I will be putting the scrog in

and leaving it 1 more week vegin sure scrog will fill up I'm hoping I can hit 14. 5 to 15 ounce. Only thing I can do is cross my fingers... :mrgreen:

They arent wrong, but you dont need to run them both during entire flower.

Running MH first 2 weeks of flower will decrease amount of stretch and increase resin production. Finishing with MH last 2 weeks will also assist with resin production. The period in between is really the only time HPS is needed.

Nothing wrong in doing the whole grow with the 400's , I've done so many times with good results.
Personally I wouldn't ever feel the need to change bulbs from hps to mh but thats entirely up to you buddy. You may get increased resin production but it won't be noticeable to you.

If you did a side by side test with the lights you could put the plants next to each other and you wud be hard pushed to see any difference imho.

I'd just stick with hps, hallide will increase your temps quite a lot so take that into account too bro. I don't know what your temps are but if there high then the mh will or cud put it through the roof if extraction isn't decent.

Guys it's been a while so what I've done is had it in veg for 2 months in which the last 2 weeks I placed a scrog in, but what I did was actually forced the branches under the net which was a bit of a mistake but it did ok.
Day I installed scrog

Last day of veg after I defoiliated

So I started flowering and my 1 hps bulb died on me... So I have a mh bulb. So it 1 hps and 1 mh which every three days I swop over.
The 1st day of flower

The one below is wer I am currently 7day into flower.

Let me know what you think guys I'm hoping a good yeild atleast 400g but stand to be correct :hump:
