Grow in a basement..

I need to move my grow area from an air conditioned environment to a basement...And I was wondering if there was anything like mold or humidity issue's I would have to deal with...And would fresh air(Opened Window) and a osc. fan help to control these ?

Anyone know where I can get a cheap Digital Humidity reader ?

Also what's better, Mylar or Flat white paint for reflecting ?

i do believe if you have a home depot in your area that you can just get a digital himidty reader.

as for reflecting it would be the mylar. just make sure its completley flattened out and not wavey or anything.

I'm gonna agree with livelife on the digital therm./humidity reader, but i personally would go with flat white paint, cause not because it reflects more or whatever, but chances are you probably have some around your house or someone you know, so it's a little easier to get a hold of. i've used mylar substitues, but personally (not saying mylar's wrong, dont take it the wrong way) they're just more to handle. paint goes up, it's dry, it's done. clean it if you ever need to. Basement is gonna get humid i bet!?!? idk, it's against zone/code to even try to build a basement in my section of the US. but our humidity stays high all the time (outside) and it hasn't ruined my plants yet, but i go check them everyday. Goodluck with the grow! and experiment with things, you'll never know if you dont try!

Thank you for the info. I found a digital humiditor and thermo. at wally world for $6.

Thank you also.....I think I will go with the flat white paint, Because I do indeed have some here at the house..I think the humidity will be the easiest to deal with..I'm just hoping I don't get a mold problem...Being it is a dark and humid area...other than my Grow light's, But everything will be in a grow cabinet that I am building as we speak....
