grow closet design i need help discussing with experts.

Dear Friends,


I would like to thank you all in advance for taking the time to discuss my future grow setup.
I have been thinking lately to make a secret perpetual grow in a cabinet, and below is the design that i come up with using IKEA's cheapest closet.

and below is a color legend so to make things more clear

Red pots will be the 2 mothers,
lights for this room will be
2 X Bridgelux EB SLIM GEN 3 340MM 5000K strips that i will run on 15 watts each
room will be air tight with no fans

blue Rez is the cloning chamber and will have 4-6 clones at a time
lights for this room will be
3 X Bridgelux EB SLIM GEN 3 340MM 5000K strips that i will run on 15 watts each
room will be air tight with no fans

green pots are the veg plants,
lights for this room will be
5 X Bridgelux EB SLIM GEN 3 340MM 5000K strips that i will run on 15 watts each
room will have air intake with 2 small fans

Orange pots are the flowering plants, I'm not planning to install any scrog as plants will keep on circulating every 3 weeks,
10 X Bridgelux EB SLIM GEN 3 560MM 3000K strips that i will run on 24 watts each
room will have air intake(from veg) with 4 small fans below the canopy blowing up

Purples are my 2 drivers HLG 150 and HLG 240 drivers, next to it is my carbon filter and the small room below is the drying room.

My goal is to pull 40 dry quality grams from each 2 trees every 3 weeks.
so circulation will be in groups of 2 plants,
clones taken from mother will stay 45 days in the cloner. (I know this is too long but this number needs to be at least 45 days as flowering room will be full, so i would have so much time for plant training and might need to trim some roots also)
then they will be vegged for 25 days (also too long time but this is needed as again flower room will be busy, and i will have time for additional plant training)
after this they will move to flower for around 65 days.


I have also made a project plan having all the resources allocated
is this possible, any one can help me with any ideas that would make this setup better ?


also for plant training methods and genetics, i still haven't decided on that yet.

Extremely well thought out and informative. I just feel you would make it a lot simpler and easier if you had a separate flower tent? It would free up more space for mother's and clones. Then you would be able to run 3/4 clones/veg and cherry pick the best to move flower.

That would be great, but i don't have this luxury of space that why i thought of something compact and hidden somehow unlike the tent, i can have a selection stage in the cloner, as i can have up to 20 clones at a time as a max, what do you think about this ?

you are right, but we need to keep the air flow going, currently its an air tube for all rooms except the cloner and the moms, what do you suggest , shall i start the intake from the moms top room and pass it through clones then veg to flower then to carbon filter?

You need air movement or your clone station and veg/mother will get PM.
PC fans!


Your mother and veg stations can be on the same hours so you don't need a solid surface dividing them.

Your wattage is off on each section.

15-20w is plenty to clone.

30-40w should be plenty for veg. Space is less than 2 square feet.

240w is too much for flowering a space which is essentially a 1.5x2.5ft space.
But you could consider a stacked vertical flowering section were your lighting hangs vertical to increase your flowering canopy.

have always been short on lights. maybe i was trying to revenge my past with this new design,lol but thank you i will consider this. maybe i can drive the 10 strips on 100 watts total.

I was thinking about this, so instead of hanging walls on top i can hang them on the cabinet back wall. and u think this is the way to pull 20 G out of each plant ? because i was thinking about the horizontal space and its small area, unlike the vertical.

I use a similar size cabinet myself minus the multi chamber set up. The thing I've noticed about my own 'stealth' set up is that no matter how stealthy I try to be there will always be tell tale signs of growing taking place (when it's up and running) because there are so many different items that are used to maintain the cabinet and its contents that don't fit neatly inside of the box. Bags of hydroton/soil, water jugs, air pumps etc. It's stealthy when it's not in use but when it's up and running I can only kid myself for so long.

lol you are right, but I need something that at least you can turn off and seal close if someone will come to your room for a bit otherwise when im alone in the room ill keep the closet doors open :))), as it will be inside my office room in my house, and i wont meet any strangers in my office, and i will keep the office door closed, when i leave the house, btw what about the smell ?will the 4" carbon filter be any good ?

I almost did (semi-vertical). I have a scrog screen that hangs from the ceiling and I extended it up the back wall using some trellis netting but then when I picked up a waterfarm I realized that a semi-stationary scrog set up wouldn't allow me to access the reservoir.

can understand , but my plan is to fix the lights on the inner walls keep it simple by growing in organic soil, but i dont think this setup will provide lights to the 3 plants close to the cabinet door, maybe should i use bigger pots and do only 3 plants ? or make the light from back of the cabinet and the sides ?

You could stagger 4 autos at 3 weeks apart. Your veg and bloom could be the same area. You'd be perpetual harvesting/planting every 3wks and you'd have less to maintain. 40g a plant is definitely achieveable, and once you get it dialed it could be more. With 44" wide (divider removed) you'd be less than 1ft width per plant (or at 30in wide you'd be less than 1ft width per 3 plants), so you'd not want to get them very big. Just an idea. Nice post, cool project.

I think it's good to have a general idea of what you want and then jump right in by acquiring the cabinet. I wouldn't start ordering lights etc until I've dealt with climate/ventilation and have put the appropriate sized containers in their place. Nothing wrong with planning as you've been doing (BTW, your Paint 3D skills are far better than anything I could do) ..but there's nothing quite like having the cabinet in front of you so that you can build upon it as needed rather than how it was imagined.

Love this ! Keep being creative I love it. I really like ur idea for the closet just make sure there is fresh air getting to the smaller side grow areas.

Id think a tent with a false front would serve better.Smell and light would be gone then.

I’ve looked at the same Ikea wardrobe so I’m really interested in this project.
One thing I may have missed, or you may not have thought about, but where are you planning on drying your perpetual harvests? One thought of mine, if you haven’t got somewhere else, is to use the currently dead space between your flower area and your fan area. Hang a grid you can peg the buds on to, make a hole into the fan area, bang a small pc fan in for a bit of air movement and your filter will be able to cope with the smell of the drying flowers at no extra cost.
I love stealth grows, i do them myself, keep us updated with your progress please!

yes the rack under the carbon filter is the drying rack, as i know for sure it will be a pain to have somewhere safe to dry ur buds with no smell, thats why i thought about it, pc fan seems a good idea.

also i agree with you on this as well, but planning and sharing this idea in a nice community that shares the same love seems to trigger many other idea as no one can outsmart a community of experts.

guys you have no idea how much love and emotions i get when i think about this project, and i will keep updating the thread so i can hopefully give back to the community that supported me and taught me so many things.
