Grow Cabinet Build

you can hook the fan up 1 of 2 ways 1. have the air coming from the outside into the grow room and then out of the grow room into the cooltube then outside 2. have the air coming into grow room then out. air coming into the cool tube then out. so you would have 2 inputs and 2 outputs.

ok i think i understand. i'm not saying your wrong about your set up. i'm just getting a general idea of what is going on as i will be doing the same type of box and i'm wondering about heat issues. are you relying on the fan in the utility room to pull the air through? or do you have an inline fan to do that. and if so where is at.
I just have the one fan hooked up its an inline S&P TD-150 on low - I had everything hooked up last night for 3hrs - temps inside the cab were 3-5 degrees warmer than ambient temps in my bedroom. And this is without everything sealed up in the cabinet - By Sunday I should have some temp readings without plants.

Honestly I don't think I'll need the fan control I got with the S&P. I plan on adding an oscillating fan in the flowering chamber and possibly one in the veg/mother area.

I've got 3 coats on so far and I think I'm gonna need 1-2 more. 2 coats of flat white latex paint then on top of that I am using some roofing paint - electrosteric roof coating. Hopefully it'll be dry enough for me to finish up tomorrow. Clones should be ready mid next week.

Time to start planning out the scrog setup, if anyone can point me to good modular screen setups that would be great. I've found reference to them but not a whole lot of plans/details.

Okay, painting is done, I just put the PVC elbows in and am waiting for them to dry.

Here's a few pics.

I'm still debating doing a soil grow or possibly going with a SWC - I don't have room for a DWC so we'll see.

Wow, man, you did good. I remember seeing that cabinet the first time, thinking, wow...that's gonna take hella work. You could make $ on the side doing these setups? I'm currently filling out all the paperwork to get a wholesale account, so you could get everything cheap and do work local for your friends. That's impressive. Come to my house and do my ventilation for me! I don't know anything about scrog. I'm so tired of doing things ghetto, that I'm researching how to build nice flood and drain tables, but that's as far as my handy-work goes.

Okay, I got everything painted and the duct work installed, need to finish sealing off everything.

Currently I'm running 77.4 degree's after 2hrs. My room is a little warmer than normal at 72.6 degree's so temps seem to be doing good.

I've got 28in to work with under the cooltubed 250w MH/HPS - is this enough room to scrog? If so, can anyone recommend what pot size to get.

I'll post pics tomorrow or the next day - clones should be ready soon.

Ok ... IMO .. what I would do is make a small housing for your fan and mount it right next to the wall going to your utility room pulling air from your box through your hood through your fan thru the wall ... place the scrubber in the utility room and vent out the side or back of the utility room sucking air thru your filter like that wont work properly you want the air to get "filtered" and by pushing the air into the filter it will do just that... sucking it up into the filter wont be nearly as effective...

Okay, thinks are looking good - almost done with construction. Clones will be ready next week - a few strains were taking longer to root so I'm just waiting to pick them up.

I was getting a little worried about height restrictions but I think everything will work out in the end. The 6in cooltube really keeps the cabinet cool and I can keep my hand on the glass for minutes at a time without it getting to warm at all.

The other night I did a 4hr test on heat and the results were good - flowering section just was just under 78/25.5 degrees with my room sitting at 72/22 currently. - usually I keep my room around 65ish - we like it colder...

In the end I'll have about 30in of room to work with from the floor to my cooltube - I need to raise it a little bit more. I'm going to add a pullout shelf to both rooms - got the rails for the flower side (100lb) and will get the rails for the veg room later. I'm also about to order a dark room louver from B&H to replace the PVC pipes on between the rooms.

You'll notice I hung the carbon scrubber on top next to the cooltube - this seems to work well.

As for my height restrictions I think I'm going to work with 2gal round pots and scrogg.

Anyhow, you've all been asking - here are some photos - the flower in some pics is an orchid that has been getting eaten by my cats....

Tomorrow, I'll be cutting the shelving for the pullout shelves, Saturday off to the shop to get the actual supplies for the grow and paint for the shelves.

I ordered an 8x8 darkroom louver that is going to replace the pvc pipes between the veg and flower rooms. I'll take this apart when it comes and spraypaint it white.

I'll try to post more pictures Saturday night or Sunday. I'm going to try and get the shelves painted and installed after a busy day out running around.

Okay, the cabinet has been running well - temps are staying within 5 degree's of our bedroom temperature.

Darkroom louver will be here Friday and I'll get it installed Saturday with the screen/s (haven't decided if I am going to go modular or just go with a singular screen - probably 1 till I get the hang of things.

I am using Fox Farm Ocean Forest with Perlite mixed in and will be using Fox Farms nutrients.

I am taking the clones I got and putting them right into the soil with the rockwool attached (not sure if the larger cubes will cause issues down the road - I'll keep an eye on them).

Here are a bunch of photos. You'll see the pullout shelf I added to the flower chamber.

you should get a miniture dwc going on in there that would be awesome.
I am actually considering a swc as I hear it referred to - Short Water Culture but I really want to just get a grasp on growing in soil first. Since I am scrogging on my first grow - I don't want to worry about too many different options. Once I feel comfortable then it will be onto SWC as I think it will be less work.
