Grow box light question

First off my grow box is 2.6'(Wide) x 1.5'(Deep) x 2.6'(Tall).

I have 4 fixtures that have reflectors and a clamp on them which support up to 75W each. I also have a 2' t12 light with 2 bulbs that are both 20W each.

What I am wondering is what lighting I would need for this type of setup? Basically how many of the fixtures would actually be needed and what watt lights should I use in them?

Thanks to anyone who helps.

Whats going in the box? basically you want at least three 26w for one plant then add one to two more per plant added, I would still go by this even with the t12 because with cfls the closer the better. The lumens tend to fade any further than three inches away, so start with that ratio and see what you can fit leaving room to grow and add to it if you can. Also be sure you get the daylight cfls around 6500k for vegetation and 2700k soft for flower, you can mix and match with a 2:1 ratio to keep from buying so many!

While those extremely high-wattage CFLs may be good, whether on a budget or not I find it's nice having lots of lights to be able to scatter them all over the place.

Anyway, just for your interest- I have a similarly sized area (2'W x 2'D x 3'H) with 6 light pendants and a large selection of 2700k and 6400-6500k bulbs (all 30W). Works very well for a basic, cheap setup. I had no reflectors on the lights during my last grow, and persistent heat problems, and pulled over an ounce of dried material from one plant.

With all my tweaks for this grow, and the fact that I'm now growing an indica, I reckon I can pull up to 2.5 ounces.

Not bad for a slapped-together CFL grow.

Anyway, point is the more lighting the better and with your 4-bulb + t12 lights you should be able to pull an ounce at least. Just make sure you have a selection of 2700k and 6400k bulbs for veg' and flower.

Well I want to clearify that I will be just doing the veg in this tent for 1 mother plant and 4 clones at a time. They will then go in rotation with others into a biigger tent for the remainder of there time which I have a 400 watt mh/hps switchable for. So really All im housing is 1 mother plant at a time and 4-6 clones. As of now im shooting for just 4. So guess what im now wondering is if this idea would work. I have my t12 hanging at top. Then could I get away with having 1 socket have a y switch for 2 23W 6500k lights for above the mother plant. Then do this same thing over top of the clones? or would I be better off having 1 light per clone?

Hmm... Well, I'm not sure how long you intend to keep clones in that tent for. But your two 23W and T12 would be perfectly sufficient for probably the first week or two of veg'.. Then your plants will probably start stretching.

I gradually add CFLs as my plants grow so I have a general idea of how far they can go before they start stretching. Right now I have 120W of CFLs over 3 seedlings, about 4" away, and this is enough light for at least until after the first or second set of "true leaves".

It's really for you to judge.

Maybe you should just go ahead with your plans but keep another Y splitter and two more bulbs around just in case. If you notice stretching you can fix it. I can understand you'd like to get away with as fewer lights as possible, so go for the trial and error approach.

If you do end up putting two more bulbs in there, try to make sure you put one 2700K in.
