grow box help!

Hello,
I'm making a secret grow box in my closet I was thinking of topping the plant when its around 10 inches tall and putting it on a 12 to 12 hr cycle this is my first grow and I was just wondering if I used a box about 30in tall by 20 wide and sumhow suspended the light above it so it wasent to close or far away if it would work. The whole idea fits perfect in my closet please help.

get a pre built tent to those size specs on ebay cheap as shit and will help u have some where to start the link in my sig is my cab you can make them out of anything i seen a refrigerator as a cab it was awsome

Allright ill look em up, but would that be enough space for a 10" plant?

normally you want to top while you still have some veg time so that the plan can focus on flowering during 12/12 not repairing an injury. I like to stay on the safe side and might as well flower at 8" in case it more than doubles in size. think about height of the pot or container its growing in as well as the total height of the lights reflectors/hanging mechanism... usually at best both these two combine account for 1ft of your growing space... so thats already down to less than 20". defiantly could work though with LST or even look into a SCROG or Screen of Green... if space is your biggest challenge this may be your best bet.

So I just read the topping techniques, so prettumuch way ur sayin is top it at 8 and let the light stay on it how much longer b4 12/12

Also how bog of a pot would I need for a 8-10" plant?

Listen... do some more reading on the forums. you can find these kinds of things out if you go through and read a couple different journals, read through the newbie central posts, especially the stickys, and then look up things like LST and through that you should be able to pick up on what the general rule of thumbs are. I read it while I was waiting LOL I just have one more questioni. I was thinking of using cfls what watt bulb shuld I buy for my space thanks.

I use 7000color temp 18"from walmart becareful though. 6 in from light will seedlings is close enough any closer and leaves start to burn.

Okay one more time.... look stuff up, if you want to know about CFLs just look in the CFL growing section under Indoor Growing... there is a sticky at the top that has everything you need to know. any questions specific to CFLs could then be asked but if you did any reading you would already know its not about the watts at all, its about the lumens and color temperature. People just use wattage as a way to generalize the size of their grow...
