grow box help?

I am goin to start my first every grow indoors i am going to buy:

400w HPS/MH light both bulbs one for veg and one for flower. With a cool tube,carbon filter and inline fan.

Would running it:

Carbon filter > fan > ducting > cooltube > ducting out of room be ok?

And planning on building my own grow box that is 4ftx4ftx6ft but i dont know wat materials to build my box from.

Was thinking building frame from 1x2 or 2x2 then having a centeral 2x4 plank at the top to give light support. Then making the walls from plywood.

Any ideas

all of the wood should be plenty strong enough. Someone might mention that dark plastic stuff you put up so that you dont need solid walls. i have a long instructional video on how to set up a grow room if you want me to send it to you.

thanks for re assuring me thought it would probily be strong enough just didnt want it to collapse half way though and kill my first grow :L please send the vid.

Yep, if you wanted to save on wood costs you could do a diy tent and line the wooden frame with panda film walls. As long as you have a sturdy frame, it doesn't matter what the walls are made out of.

And the way you picture the ventilation routing is exactly the way I exhaust my tent.

Do i leave the fan on when the lights off too keep filtering the air and removing it?

How many passive vents should i have?

I keep the fan on 24/7. Otherwise, my room smells like weed when I wake up since the lights are out at night.

You may have to experiment to find the right amount of intake holes. You want to have a little bit of negative pressure inside the cab to keep the stink in. I'd start drilling 3 or 4" holes one at a time to see what the best pressure inside the cab is.

ok thanks i heard the passive intake should be about 3x the fan exhaust so ill try that.

IM thinking about gettin a s&p mixvent fan td 350 which is 350m3/hr anyone kno how much cfm this is? and would it be enough for my 4ftx4ftx6ft grow box?

And thinking of using 300m3/hr carbon filter with it would it be okay because it is lower m3/hr than the fan?
