grow box height

So I'm planning on building a decent size grow box for about 4 plants. I'm gonna grow with CFLs but with a hell of a lot of them. down the sides of the box and across the top. I'll probably add some hanging lights as well for extra penetration. I want to grow them to decent size so I get a decent yield (4-5 ft) but i don't want to make a grow box that is that tall. I decided to go with the "tie her down" technique to cut down on height but keep them massive. So that would just increase length, right? What do you guys think the dimensions should be because I can't seem to settle on them myself . I don't want more room then I need and I also would prefer not to have a giant "closet" in my basement. thanks

Even with like 25-30 cfls? how big would they get? I think i could get at least an ounce per plant with that many lights.

hey bro i got to 35 gallon rubbermaids stacked, 20"x26"or so and its like 4ft or something idk. but i have 24 23 watt cfls up top and some 42s down low. i have 8 4 ft sativas in there, each plant gives me atleast 2ozs

i dont know exactly something like 19.5in wide and 26"long its roughly 4ft tall but their is no ceiling. for siplicity i got 2 rubbermaid totes put them together. the top one is upside down so i cut the "bottom" outand thats what my lights are attatched to, i raise and lower the lights/bottom of tote. 20"box fan built into the side.. the lights, 4 extension cords, they have 8 outlets each, 2 light bulbs on y splitters straight into the extension cord, 6cfls per cord makes 24.....

cool man. thanks for the info. sounds about what I'm planning on doing but I'm going to actually enclose the whole thing because smell is an issue for me. I'll have to build an intake fan and a carbon scrubber for the exhaust. I Just wasn't sure on the L x W x H to go with for the box.

you know i first started growing and thought it would stink up the place, i vegged some and it stunk a little, only when they were hot and i got nervous when they flowered you would smell it down the block, well they did flower, but the stink never came. i thought after curing it would come. it never did.. sativas are notoriously low odor, they smell beautiful but only with your face up in em.....i now have 2 of these tubs flowering 16 of these 4ft ladies with another 20 in mommas andclones and veg.....now i have family over etc all the time so think about that when picking strains, its alot harder to vent closed with filters

I'll keep that in mind. my whole basement smells like a community of skunks are living down there. I'm going to have to do something LOL

wonder woman. I did have some Venus flytrap as well but god damn mites got em'. Tried the habenro spray and it failed and they ended up dying . That's why i"m gonna make a sealed box and Ortho Home Defense the fuck out of it LOL.

hell yea i was just about to say that, i almost lost my mommas to em, sprayed em down with orth home defense, and a touch of 409 they were dead that day, full recovery within a week, they were gnarly too

i use rubbermaids also, although i just stand one 35 gallon, of course nt sure yet from all diy full growth vids i watched on youtube
u can fit 1 very swole plant or 2 good sized easy 2-3 ozs a tote, i do standing because feels more sturdy to me and the all cfl only got 700w (ruffly 250 adjacent going now) but still great results.. now im building a flower box whic i hae 4 packa of 4 100(23w 2700k) with 1 200w (40w2700k) and the 2 200w(40w6500k) there the ecobulbs at Menards 200s only 8.95daylight and like 10-20 cents cheaper softwhte

yea the guy i copied all my work off,
grew one plant rite over 2oz
and had another tote with 2 plants and it grew rite under 3, but he was also using lowryders, and only 4-5 cfls

the roots are sik on the auto I MEAN SICK!! i was worriied about the peat being in so early but shiiiiiittt lol ill take ftos of bottoms and homestly mu littlest plants has te best roots... their thick for baby roots and u visible see them stretch out of middle to the corners... very wicked looking

sweet man, i only use reggie as well (as long as your definition is mexican bag) im about to get some g13 labs pineapple express or one of their kushes though. but bagseed is wonderful it just takes 16-18 weeks to flower which sucks

if u have the cash .....look in to rotating(spinning) platforms set the plants there set up the lights ....plant turns all side get even light (so if u do 4 u do not need a center light u can just line the edge with lights

and as for what to do

auto pounder ....this is a auto seed so mix spec works great u can have veggie and flowers same room .....soil they are basically idoit proof except over/under watering ...can u see anything wrong for this for his set up ...........i am just learing this if u are using air bags go up one gallon more if u know a 3 gallon is perfect get a 4 gallon (since the air gets in about 1/2 inch all the way around is not used so u are getting less soil then u think ) the volume is 3 gallons but the space the plant is using/drawling food from is less since the water is not there for the exchange

to tell u the truth, i dont think its mex seed,
most mex weed whic is abudant here is pure brick lol usually brown with chem smell... prolly from smugglin.. and it grows wild in the eastern part of my state.
it was real light green popcorn and smelled real fruity skunk but had ALOT of seeds. after researching assuming its eastern ky mj grown wild and either hermd or male pollinated because it was real seedy, i kept over 20 seeds from it so we'll see if it was genetics that grew so many seeds or farmers mistake, it was real good so still worth if gentics
