This is my second grow.. (i didnt get any buds on my first) so i guess its my first real grow.. I am basically setup in the corner of a small room, i used CFLS for the first week of veg, however I recently switched over to the MH light and it is super bright.. i need some type of way to cheaply surround my plants and let them keep all the light, so it doesnt go through the whole house.. I dont want to completey cover them 4 ways around and only want to cover 3 ways.. does anyone have any good ideas for materials i shoud use or how i should do it.. I'd just like to get some stuff from home depot and make a 3 way box to surround them on the outside.. I am not at the location now, bt here is some drawings.. the lines outside of the wall is where i want to make the surroundings

How cheap? I swear by panda plastic. It's like 90.00 for 100 ft. It's light proof reflective and durable. You may not need 100 ft. but you can always use it, at least I can. You can divide rooms easily and quickly with it...yada yada blah blah

Well, this is my first grow and i'm already in to it for alot of cash, so i dont want to go for much more.. I'd probably only need 20 feet of that.. where do you get it?

Where do you think?

High Tech Garden Supply

You may be able to find it in smaller amounts but most places will jack the shipping cost through the roof. Also it is not like mylar it's durable and you can clean it as much as you want, you can reuse. Mylar tends to crease collect dirt etc. It goes by many names Panda Plastic, Panda Film, black and white poly

I saw the panda plastic.. Wil that stay up by it self though? I am looking for more of something to build something to hold it up for now like i coud grab from home depot.. i was thinking of building something with wood but i think i'd rather go with plastic or rubber then lining it with maylar or panda plastic.. i want to keep in the light as much as I can, but not too much, cause its getting hot as fuck over there.. its 90 but i have co2 so that should be ok.. but i'd ike to keep lots of ventilation

Yeah you can attach it easily to wood or pvc piping some velcro or a staple gun work fine for me. Just think of it as a curtain, you can always leave it open in one area for your ventilation. I'm at work so I can't show you a pic right now. I basically built a 4 by 6 ft. skeleton out of 2 x 4s. I then stapled Panda Plastic around the whole thing my temps are fine with good ventilation. I know you have spent a lot for your first grow...it happens. But this is a one time investment, like I said it's durable and you can reuse it.

But if you want to just use 2 x 4s and plywood with some flat white paint that will work fine too.

yea i might do that for now, the problem is i'm going away in a couple days and i be gone for a week.. i have someone taking care of them, but i wantg to build something before i go.. i might just do flat white.. is there anything i can get from home depot that is comparable to mylar? or any reflective surface for that matter?

videoman, i am doing the co2 with sugar, water and yeast right now.. but i have a couple of them.. i am using a 400 watt HPS for flowering and tons of 2700k spectrum CFLs.. i am using the enitre foxfarm nute line (the 6 of them) they are 9 master kush plants day 12 or so from seed.. ill post some pics later

I went out and purchased some "car windshield refector" just got back from home depot.. seems to be EXTREMLEY durable and flexible and they say it reflects everything

heres a pic of something very similar to what i got (found on google)

Just make sure that you don't do all the walls with it. I think you said you were doing 3 walls and leaving one open. That stuff is insulated...meaning your temps are going to be much higher than they are now.

yes and im not going to cover it or make it airtight, i'll leave some holes here and there along with cracking the window and running a fan.. temps are already at 90 and making the rest of the room 80 just from the MH light.. i think leaving the top open will let alot of the heat escape since heat rises
