Hi I'm a very long time member, but this is my first post. In this grow journal I'm going to show that Growing a pound is possible and cheap through knowledge. I've been vegging a 00 seeds bubble for 2 1/2 months on Walmart basic nutrients for 24hrs. I'm running a 2x4x6 with 525 watts of cfl. One 250 watt and a couple 43 watt big boys I got from Wally world.
For flower I'm switching to flora nova, with a mix of bud candy
I use a method I like to call Gorilla cropping. Essentially I combine, lollipopping, fimming, my improved version of the scrog, and low stress training. I know what you're thinking......This guy is crazy he's just monster cropping, but.........YOU'RE WRONG using my method it is possible to take advantage of every branch, and every single top because we are self maintaining a Scrog. (Only until flower) When you scrog you use a net, and long story short by bending the plant under the net young growth will mature fasture. This in turn will make the young growth pop through the net. I have felt for a while that this method was a good one but it still eliminated to many potentially awesome tops for my liking. My method is slightly more work but I assure my method will prove twice as effective. Instead of scroging the plant to get just the tops that could reach the net; why not separate the plant with twisties in order to get the perfect canopy. You'll be able to LST the branches to any side of the plant pot you like by drilling a few holes in the side of the pot. Your plant will eventually naturally start to grow the angle you tie it.
Don't get me wrong critics my technique is still heavily filled with the basics. After one month of 24 hour veg I begin to fem every single top on the plant. As the plant starts to create new growth begin LSTing your plants with tie downs. (ONLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BRANCH) For now we're just angling the branches towards the outside of the pot, so that every top gets a chance to thrive. After 10 days fim again but this time take a hanger(Diy SCROG) and sit it on the very top of all your main branches.(make sure main tops are leaning towards the ground so that your younger top get long and strong). By separating your plant the long way and not taking the easy way out you can pull long branches aside so that the smaller main branches can also get light. My method also allows you not to destroy so much of your under growth. Keeping it is now worth it because you can achieve perfect lighting throughout the canopy. My baby easily has 100 tops honestly I wish I wouldn't have lollipoped so high up.....nevertheless If done correctly it will look like mine. I'll keep you posted day 1 of flower starts tomorrow.
