Grounding Your Grow Room.

Does anyone make any special efforts to ground your equipment? The power is grounded at the breaker box but is it worth the effort to try for a deep earth ground. I happen to have a six foot rod and the appropriate clamps and wire, I'm just not certain I need them. I ran two 20 amp drops so there's plenty of dedicated power but no surge or power strips.

if you live in the states and have the 3 wires in your outlets you are grounded if every thing is hooked up correctly hot, neutral ,and ground but still would not hurt to have surge protecter

Thanks bs. I ran three wire from the breaker box and everything is grounded. I just happen to have some grounding rods and clamps from those olden days of installing cable. I can vouch for the need of good surge protection. I've been hit by lighting twice and I can tell you TWO things. ONE is don't confuse power strips with good surge protection and TWO is don't have ACV (Actual Cash value) and not replacement cost when it comes to insurance. Arg..

Yea you should be OK. If the electrical work was done properly your efforts would be redundant. That third prong on whatever outlet you're using is the ground which goes back to the panel which should be grounded.
