I did flush for around 7 days. They didn't get any nitrogen from week 7 though, just pk and booster up until week 9, as I read they don't need any nitrogen late in flower and wasn't necessary is that right? This is when I started flushing with pure RO water for a week until chopping it down
Imo what you want is a proper fade: leaves turning yellow/purplish/blackish. That way you know you got the chloropyll out of the plant and they will cure and taste better. To me you could have easily waited another week or so.
With coco, dialed in enviroment and good intensity you can almost go crazy on nute strength up to the last 3 weeks. But you need to have your ec runoff controlled; cant go too high, we usually try to keep under 3, and then when you get closer to flush/finishing time you need it quite a bit lower for your flush actually to work. You can flush for the last 2 weeks if you want bit if that doesnt bring ec down to cannibalizing levels, then youve not made a successful flush. Its not by scedule, its by EC out so you cant build up too much as youre getting closer to flush. And then when you get ec down low, you just watch the leaves change. Does this make sense? Not always the best at explaining

I was tracking the run off ec all thru flower (had bad salt build up in previous grows so learnt my lesson there) and it was always within .2 of the feed going in. If I remember rightly the run off was down to .4ec a day or two before cutting down from around 2ec a week or two before

I've got another purple punch waiting on the sidelines, I'll be more patient with this one

All info being taken on board tho cheers :D

When you reach that low you still need to wait until the leaves change, this means that the plant is auto cannibalizing and is about to finish.
Purple punch is a nice one :) try to see if you can add some uv, even if its just some AliExpress diodes. Id rec arding 400 and 365nm in a 2:1 proportion. Its easy to learn how to solder up.

Trichomes are an Indicator, not the indicator of a ripe plant. I've all but stopped checking them, say for the last few days when I'm anxious.

I wouldn't bother with UV yet. You will not solve this problem by spending more money. And if you do get UV, make sure you're using the right spectrum, with appropriate PPE. Regular LED lights can damage your eyes, trust me, I'm living with spots in my vision from it, UV ( B or C?) can damage your skin and cause cancer, and do even more harm to your eyes.

That is true, but 400nm, which ive used with success is not harmfull. Its on the border of the par region so still photosynthetic. It will help with final ripening and it greatly increases taste/smell. Uvb should only be added with care, and uvc does not belong anywhere near your grow; its damaging to both skin and eyes and only used as disinfection. Near uv can be had for about a $ per diode; bang for buck investment its about the best of all led investments. I recommend it from my own experience.

Really sorry to hear about your eyes. I do not wish to discount from your experience, just adding mine. I usually wear a baseball cap when dealing with intense leds overhead, and keep from looking at the light. But also all our leds run around half power to what you usually see in commercial lights. Ymmv :)

His plants are being harvested early, UV won't fix that. Solve for variables before adding more, that's all I'm saying.
