Top dress both. Only use guano in teas for deficiencies. Get some kelp meal and neem meal too.

Greensand is a very slow release product - months to years. If you reuse your soil or make your own compost, you will like it. If you just throw out your soil at the end of each grow then you won't really get benefit. If you make your own compost, you can throw some in there for the critters to break down for you so its available when you pot your plants.

Mix in your potting soil at about 1/2+ cup per 8 gallons of soil.

You get better results usually from top dressing and you use less.. With a deficiency. Guano gets broken down quick in a tea and is more readilly available.

Greensand is a sand with a high mineral content. I don't see any benefit to topdressing with it. Mix it into a soil for better drainage and LONG term micro nutes. Bat guano, like all other composts and manures, is great both in soil and in topdressings/teas. I generally keep my manures to less than 10% of my composted material if possible. I LOVE high phosphorus guanos....most readily available manures are high in N. but all manures have higher ammonia content and thus will raise your pH a bit. I topdress with extra compost/manure when I have a long flowering strain and make teas with them when I see nutrient deficiencies arise.
A tea will NOT give you BETTER results, but it will give FASTER results than adding the product directly to the soil. Thus, how you use the products usually depends on what is going on in the garden.

Ive been using my soil than tossing it but i guess i could re add nutrients then compost the soil in garbage bins and constantly have nutrient rich soil without having to buy bags but im no soil expert. Id be willing to learn anything this organic growing is very interesting to me.but im wondering if it will do any good to add greensand to the soil if its "slow release" and three or 4 months might not be enough time for microbes to break it down to a useable form for the plant.or will it gradually add minerals and nutrients to the plant over the course of the plants life?

Alflafa meal in a veg tea. I used to use it in my soil. I got some neem meal now. that's has a litlle of nitrogen, potassium, phos, magnesium, calcium, manganeses, iron, sulfur, zinc. Its fungacide too. Then I top dress with rock dust, shrimp meal, crab meal, kelp meal, compost and worm castings.
