i second greenthumbs recommendation on the plant count. Have you looked back on this tread to see his GG4 in the 4x4 tent?
Oh Hell yea; can you say BEAST!
Superb job on her GT. Don't get much better than that. Its those photos that have me wanting to give them a go.

I was just thinking shorter veg time with 4 girls is all. Still want to fill 4x4; but quicker; and get to see more ladies.

I have been running 4 girls in 7 gal. pots.
The watering gets to be a pain, and I didn't really care for Blumats.

How do you think 2 totes, with 2 girls in each would work? Space them 18 or 20 inches apart.

You were closer than I initally was, so it's all good. Lol

Anyways, I'm totally in to trying this. Everything looks great and many thanks to Greenthumbs for the time you've spent here! I'm in the process of building a 2.5' X 4' X 5'H "tent". I've been taking tons of pics and will do a build thread on it when I get some time. For this size, should I try a couple 18's or maybe just one plant in a 30?

I can Google it and get some ideas, but on your SCROG framework- do you have a few pics of it? I like how it's tied into the two cross pipes going through the tote. Is that really strong enough to support everything, or would you have rather done something freestanding?

BTW- it's nice not being the old fart on a forum for once. You guys are like dust compared to me! Lol j/k
1 30 or 2 18, better to have more soil then not enough! I just bought a 30g tote going to build it later, maybe putting in 2 girls possibly 3, haven't decided, what I do know, is I'm using 2 wicks in the 30!

That would be a question to ask @greenthumb i do not currently run the Sips.

I'm actually going to make a 30g sip maybe tonight or tomorrow and run 2 gg4 plants and make it cover the 4x4, half the veg time, so maybe a month give or take a few to get the size I want, but the one im running now, doesn't completely fill the 4x4, I'm lacking a few inches on the sides so I want the next one to be a tad bigger, and also a few extra inches on height of the colas!

that's my recommendation tho, 2 plants 1 30g sip, if not then 2x 18g 1 plant in each I'd say about 18in apart give or take a few!

I do have a couple 30 gal. also. If you were to put 2 in, it would definitely be better than the 18's.
Gonna probably try that.

if u don't mind waiting a day or 2 to build them, I got all my stuff today to make one, I'll post the pics and stuff, I plan to have 2 wicks! but other than that same design! my worry is about the middle being too weak, so if I come across problems and u wait maybe u can learn from my mistakes, if there is any, just saying!

Sure, I'll wait, watch, and learn. I have a lot of other things I should be doing anyways. lol
I seen a build where a guy used 2 short pieces of field tile in the bottom for his support. Would be solid, but wouldn't give you the pvc scrog foundation to tie into like your design has. That's a good option.
Another guy used beer cups with holes melted in them and stood up all across bottom. Didn't care for that. To chinzy.

the bonus of having the pvc pipes work perfectly for the Scrog happened down the road, I was pleasantly surprised when I came up with the idea!

OK I need some advice guys! what do yall think about adding some mammoth p with my em1 in the rez? I was told the cake can be a big of p hog, I wasn't planning to mix it right off the bat, but adding some m.p. into the rez a day or 2 later?

I wonder if they would compete against each other? or maybe work well idk!

@ShLUbY may have an opinion on this, I hope lol

damn that shit looks amazing, next level mang. GG4 is definitely one of those plants where you get out what you put in. the netting is crucial with this strain. I wish I would have done that with mine this past run. next (and last) run I will be.

to me, if you got mycorrhizae and a plethora of microbes, what do you need mammoth for? That's always been my philosophy. I'm more interested in using things like EM1 because they have a more synergistic relationship with other organisms... meaning those organisms function better in each others presence than separately on their own. I can't say whether or not mammoth p does or doesn't do this... but I'm just not sold on it. I don't think one microbe is worth that kinda money. I'd be interested in a side by side in an organic system though. if you wanna do it... i'm gonna observe :)

if you listened to the podcast i posted a week ago with dr. allison, she hypothesized that most growers are experiencing positive effects from microbial inoculants (especially in salt based environments) because the microbes consume the extra overfed minerals; thus reducing salinity, lowering plant stress, which results in positive growth response. I'm totally am on board with her hypothesis. I mean think about it, it makes perfect sense. Nutrient companies suggest over applying just about every mineral element. Why? you use more product. she was doing research on phos. levels and found the plant showed no benefit from more than 15ppm (most companies are recommending 150ppm). so she hypothesizes that using things like mammoth p (though not specifically calling them out) would reduce phos in the nutrient solution which results better growth. If you didn't listen to her interview on KISorganics you definitely should. I admire what she's doing.

so that's my two cents... i could be dead ass wrong though :)

well my buddy at the local store hooked me up with 2 sample bottles, so I know that would be enough to do a nice run, I'm with you could never buy it, just not worth that kind of money, besides I'm sure with this method I already have those same microbes in the soil! but i just figured for as much as it cost 2 free sample bottles it's gotta help somehow! but now I'm thinking about just using it for my girls in smart pots, I've got a few that have about 3-4 weeks left in flower, I figure it might do them some good!

if you want to explain more about what kind of side by side your looking to see done, I don't mind doing it! I've got enough m.p. and it was free!

also is that podcast on YouTube, I'll check it out tomorrow!

yeah i posted the link in my thread. most recent couple of pages. easy to find. but yes, youtube.

so a side by side for me would be two of your totes, everything the same in both, except one you add the mammoth p to and the other is the control. pretty simple. it's a small sample size (n=1 LOL by no means scientific), but if you have two of the same cultivar from the same clone run and get them the same square footage in flower... should be convincing enough for me. if you're down to do that... save the mammoth for a real experiment instead of just dumping it in some already flowering plants.
