Greenpoint's Stardawg Male????

I was wondering if anybody could tell me if Greenpoint's stardawg male is sativa or indica dominant. There are conflicting strain reviews of stardawg out there. Some say it's a sativa dominant strain while others say it's a indica dominant strain. Thanks.

Best answer is.... it’s a hybrid, with different leaning phenos

From GPS...

There have been a total of four Stardawg releaseseach from a different male. The first release of Stardawg was in 2011. The Stardawg Guava was a fan favorite from this release with a delightful tropical taste, large yields, and an enjoyable, uplifting effect. In 2012 just a year after it’s release, Stardawg Guava was awarded 1st place for Best Sativa at the Denver Cannabis Cup. The first release also produced the Corey Haim and Illuminati cuts that are known for their sour nose with heightened potency and more sedative effects. The third release of Stardawg was the purple release where Green Dot Labs in Boulder, Colorado found the Kate Upton phenotype. This is known to be the purple leaning release that breeders like Greenpoint Seeds and other seed companies us the male from. All of the versions of Stardawg have produced offspring with traits that exemplify everything seasoned Cannabis consumers look for in their favorite varieties. The resinous flowers that glisten with oily trichome heads stack and swell giant stinky colas that command the attention of everyone in the room. Stardawg is a great variety to have in the garden. It is easy to propagate, but as the plants begin to flower, they will likely need some support with either staking or a trellis net. As Stardawg slowly moves closer to harvest, you will notice the uplifting hints of earthy sour tones in the air. The plant will begin to stack perfect photo worthy colas that will let you know just how special Stardawg is. After you harvest and cure your plants, you are in for an extraordinary treat with the finished product. Stardawg is a sativa dominant hybrid but don’t let that fool you when it comes to her effects. She is very uplifting, but at the same time, many phenos like the Corey Haim can deliver exceptional potency that will leave even the most critical of consumers overcome with delight.

Chemdog is a hybrid. Skunk back ground. The 'sativa' gives it the yield it has and the 'indica' gives it the the hour knock down power. Smoke it and note there is a hybrid high.

I'm growing a stardawg cross right now, grows tall and dangly like an OG, leaf structure is a hybrid type plant looks like an indica dom leaf with sativa background, bud structure is like an OG with better yield.

Reason I asked is I too am currently growing some of GU's stardawg hybrids. Got 2 Cali cannon and 2 dream catcher in veg now. Hoping for at least 1 female, hopefully 2.

They've already all been topped multiple times as well as bending over and tying down the taller branches. I'm attempting to control the vertical height as well as promote a squat bushy plant. The attached Pic is my last grow using the same techniques.Got 5 Oz cured off a single white widow plant under a Timber Vero VS in a 3x3 gorilla tent.

agreed. This would explain the insane stretch of the GPS male and slight coloring it gives off. I wished someone could come up with an indica dom male of the stardawg and see how it breeds.
*just thinking out loud here*
I've grown out a few crosses that used the Guava cut and those didn't stretch much at all. You might like some of those if you can find em. Bodhi did a Starflight Guava and a Guava Hashplant. Top Dawg has a few still kicking around but I haven't seen much work with the Guava cut in the newer stuff.

I grew out the Guava D and made some F2s ;-);-). (I have them sorted but its been a little crazy around here this summer)

So is the new stardawg crosses from a new male? I think I remember GU said he retired it to make way for new fems. But said the male is still around… any speculations??
