So this is my first grow. I got five fem. WW seeds from greenhouse yesterday. I just started germinating. Do you guys check these everyday or wait a few days? I plan on growing three monsters in my 4 x 5 x 6 closet. I am going to clone one of them before they all go into flower.

Lights:
430 HPS Hortilux
2 27 watt t5's.
2 extra 2600 lumen 3500k CFL's for flower

Medium:
Foxfarm planting mix with earthworm castings and bat guano
Perlite
Vermiculite
Dessert Sand

Nutes:
Foxfarm Grow Big
Foxfarm Big Bloom
Foxfarm Tiger Bloom
Clonex for cloning (thinking about buying schultz instead..)

Any suggestions during my grow would be greatly appreciated. Any suggestions on % of different mix for my medium?

Alright, thanks for the advice. I will do that. They should be popping in about two days or so. Can't wait

mine germed in roughly 2 days, I didn't check till that day, cracked with a tap root. Good luck, I'll be checking back as we're both working with greenhouse seeds.

Thanks for the comment gyp. I looked today (2nd day) and the tap roots had already cracked the seed which was awesome. I put them in four solo cups with holes, and mixed up my soil medium. I will post pics soon. They are currently under two basement CFL's because I haven't received my light or adaptor yet...

you didn't put the root into the soil? Gotta put them facing down if you didn't and cover em up.

Yeah it would be better for you to put the seed in the dirt tap root down so that the seed shell is just a little below the surface.

Ok, what I did was try to make sure the root tap was faced down as much as possible and then I covered it up with about a half inch of soil. Let me know if I have to physically push the root into the soil more and I will. I was going to do that originally but the whole time I was doing it I was worried that I would damage the tap root.

Thanks for the comments, keep them coming :joint:

Edit: I checked on each this morning to make sure the tap root was secure in the soil. I pushed some more soil under one of the seeds to face it more upright. The others were doing great. I hope I didn't shock them to much.

Can't wait to see these things come out of the soil. Going to get some better CFL's and switch the grow to my closet where it's supposed to me. More pics on that when it happens.

Day 3

Well my first seed already came up today, the first pics are from earlier, and then I just took some. It's grown a lot just in those few hours. I tried getting an aluminum trash can and using cfl's but I think my idea is a bust and will probably be returning everything.

How often do you guys usually water at this point? I haven't watered since yesterday when I moistened the soil and put the seeds in.

Alright, my plants are looking excellent. Later on I have to move them to under CFL's instead of the nice 4ft CFL in the basement. I hope they do as well as they are doing now. I will post pictures later.

Everyone cross their fingers for me getting my 430 hps hortilux in the mail today...

Day 4

Here they are. The first one came up first. Still has the seed shell on part of her. Should I take that off? The third one came out of the soil, but you can see she is still in her seed. The last one is just sprouting.

Share your comments please. :joint:

Alright, I have some more pictures during day 4. Since my 430 watt hps hortilux isn't coming until tomorrow, I took the liberty of making a ghetto ass CFL grow for tonight. It's pretty much a piece of shit, but I think it will work for 24 hours. Do you guys think these babies are ready for the hortilux?

By the way, with the CFL's openly exposed, and some of my clothes taking up a lot of the room, notice the temp is 85 degrees. I am kind of worried about this. Will my new set up get a lot hotter? The setup I bought is enclosed and says it's air cooled even though I don't see where any ventilation would be installed. I have attached a pic.

Please let me know what you guys think. I appreciate your comments.

Wow, responded before I could post more pics. Thanks for the comment. I am trying to be organized. The plants look great so far, hopefully they should keep it up. The only thing I am worried about now is temp. when I put up my new light, and hopefully odor later down the road
