Greenhouse seeds dispute

Someone asked me to post about my germination tactics with these greenhouse seeds when they came in.

Ordered from Attitude, it took six business days to get here.

Hawaiian Snow, Super Silver Haze, Lemon Skunk, White Rhino, and Big Bang and 5 free G13 Thai Super Skunk

Being my first time ordering seeds, of coarse I searched for any little reviews about them. Well, It seems that the colored coating on the outside of these seeds has to go. So i'll scrape that off. Im gonna germ with two plates and some paper towel.

This is also the un official start of my first grow and my grow journal.

ur all wrong dude. u want the coating it has root stimulants and light protection so the seedling has the best chance to grow and grow big. the color also lets u kno the strain.

yea thats anti pythium and hormones, anyways best results with GHseeds is soak them for 6-24 hours then germ them, you will have all your seeds cracked within 24hours, GHS also has best germ rates i ever used, im like 30 for 30

yeah I started that thread all my seeds did pop but the ones with the color coating popped last and are a week behind the others (Alaskan Ice and White Widow) I think i should have put it straight into the dirt I think germinating it slowed it down I think the color stuff supose to dissolve in the soil and not the paper towel...JMO

I think if your are going to germinate them to start the color seeds about 4-5 days before you do the thai super skunk, my super skunk popped in 2days took the color seeds almost a week

They put the coating on there for a reason. Some beans just take longer to crack then others. Its like Kief Chief said. He knows what he is talking about. Leave the coating!

Day three, Still no signs of growth. I am thinking about taking some tweezers and seeing if they have even popped yet. but I just need to be patient.

For starters, THEY ARE SEEDS! Why should MJ seeds from different breeders germinate differently? Oh yeah, because Green House went out of their way to give you a product that is more flash than dash...

Colored seeds are a joke. I was 19/19 on my none Green House Seeds, but only 3/5 from their Sativa pack, with 2 not even popping, the SSH haze is atleast a week behind and only the Arjan's #1 is doing well. That coating is a fucking joke and only there to sell more seeds. Very disappointed!

If you want a good growing haze, checkout the new Utopia Haze. Best looking 3 week old plants Ive seen...And I mean all 4 of them.

The coulour coating of seeds has been around a lot longer than greenhouse doing it by scraping the coating off you will be takeing away all the root stimulaters added and the germanation powder under that.just put them in a saucer the normal germanation and i have had 100% success with any seeds from greenhouse alot of time and effort done by people who know a lot more about cannabis and it's strains than a guy who has not been doing this shit long .so to any other buyers of the greenhouse seeds leave the coating on or you are takeing all the goodness that will help you gemanate these seeds.great strains by the way.i have grown the thai and i know why they give them away good thc but leathy.

Patience young jedi. There could be a lot of things affecting the speed they'll sprout out of those blocks, like how deep they were and how tightly packed the media is. A seed is basically a mini plant in the same way an unborn baby is basically a mini human. The hull protects a seed. When it soaks up water, it kicks it all off and signal hormones start getting things rolling again. A lot of the growth you see at first isn't the cells dividing, it's them soaking up water. They're like deflated balloons inside the seed, which blow up with water (the organelle responsible in the cell is the vacuole, which is literally like a balloon that occupies 99% of the cell when it's full, the cell fills it with water to make the structure rigid). You can accelerate the process by soaking them in room temperature water for 24h before planting. It's almost certain that seeds from a lot of plants have evolved to not sprout until there's quite a lot of water around to make sure they'll be able to get going before hatching. They're safe from drout inside the hull, but a drout once they break open will leave the baby cells open to dying. Soaking them assures they're safe to go. The same is true for mushrooms. By the time you fruit them it's not really growing anymore, it's filling up with water and stretching. -if you like my reply and use HID lighting, pls vote in my bulb poll (sig)-

I'm getting ready to harvest the Lemon Skunk and White Rhino (Greenhouse seeds feminized) same pack you bought. Give em some time. The WR came out in three days, where the LS took a few more. The quality of herb at the end is far past my expectations!

I like how so many people are defending them, yet explaining how you have to go out of your way for a high germination rate...They are seeds. Mark them properly! I would MUCH rather see what the shell of my bean looks like. Some people can tell alot from the outer shell of a seed.

I am only saying...if it aint broke, dont fix it. It is obvious to see that these are in no way an upgrade... When you have to do more, to get less, thats not right...

From left t- Hawiian Snow (colored seed) Middle-White Widow (uncolored) right-Strawberry Haze (colored) they were all germinated at the same time
