so....we had a bunch of viet seeds and decided to germ them. They all came up when I expected only about half of them to, because lots werent ready to have been harvested yet. We continued to neglect them even further by not going up to the room and transplanting them all in to their own smaller pots already.

so thats the first picture.
all of them when they first germed.

we plan on putting a few of these outside to flower out. we will be finding an area to select and veg out a few males for pollen adn flower in a rubbermaid box with cfls( so pollen dosent spread in our op)

when taxes come back we are going to be getting some more equipment in our room. including additional flowering lights in addition to the small 400watt hps we have now. we have additional strains we will be germing and vegging as soon as we get them and then we plan on cloning them. we will select one male from each strain to keep in veg as a breeding father and several phenos of females as mothers.

oh yeah the reason we put this in general is because it will be in indoors and outdoors as well an an extensive journal going from beginning to end covering the small details of growing from seed AND growing a mother to take clones for an operation.

I forgot to mention that we are related through marriage(my wife is his 1st cousin) and live in the same house. Only saw fitting that we start growing together when Green_dreams moved in with me.

1 plant per pot
actually ive read research that plants only signs of over crowding when they are of different strain or gene species. figured id give it a try. isnt showing any problems yet......and it looks like plenty of them came up and will continue to do so. when they get to a few nodes high well transplant in to individual pots.
well be using 3-5 gallon containers for flowering.

same strain seems to do just fine in one soil bed ;) i have five purple hazes per tub, four tubs atm.... all will be going into one soil bed in two weeks.

Definately one plant per pot. Otherwise your plants will try to outgrow each other and use each others nutrient. Not to mention overcrowding and root control. The plants roots will try to strangle each other and then how will you transplant ...

ive been doing this game long enough. quit trying to correct me in my journal. these are seedlings not plants 12" tall.....

did yall get rid of that nosey fuck? troublemaker?

whatever happened to him?
he up and moved off one day. stuck us with a $240 elec bill for the house. luckily itll be empty now for this grow because this shit is gonna be a lot of work....
im thinking about putting the light on a 12/12 timer so we can sex earlier.....i dont need many males, just enough for more seed.

Chill out man, I was only offering my advice, don't take it if you don't want it.
no hostilities intended my friend and i apologize if i came off that way. I just find that some of the things in the grow faq are unnecessary for those who arent new to growing.
We wont be following it down to a "T" so to say.....
at least you tried to explain why instead of just saying "one plant per pot" like that guy above did.
but there is evidence that brothers and sisters of the same family strain may not have symptoms of overcrowding and im looking into it a little with this grow(although we wont be experimenting with it through the whole grow.
updates coming this afternoon.

Following the GrowFAQ to a "T" would certainly not grow plants to their full potential. The FAQ needs a lot of work. I was only speaking from personal experience with plants of the same general genetics. Good luck to you and I'll be following along to see your results.

i took these pictures yesterday and got high with a friend instead of posting them like i should.
i took them out from under the fluros(that they are under in these pictures) and put them under a 400watt hps on a 12/12 timer with 2 other clones of the "groovy viet" today. the lamp is hung about 2 ft from them.

viet f1 a week and a half old.

It fell over today and only one leaf @ the very top node remains......FUCK!
well it went under the hps today too.

aint been around much lately but ive still been mulling the boards for a bit each evening. not much interesting these days it seems. more of the same thing over and over......
so this is our attempt to change that a little bit.

yesterday we decided to transplant the little ones, and because of limited pots we decided for 3 plants to a 2 liter container. We may leave these in there until they get pre flowers..... If growth goes well we will use soil bags and transplant them into those instead.
We took half the seedlings back under a fluro to veg until they get pre flowers and kept half of them under the hps to finish when they get mature. So there is 36 under the hps and 24 under the fluros with another mom.
After we find the males well be exporting them outside to find a dominant male we would like to select for breeding purposes. I will then have to Break my rule and make a cutting to bring inside and root, veg and flower for the pollen(which will be much faster than waiting on it to do so outside). Hopefully we can do all this with no pest. (tweeks eye.....).

the clones are 6 days into flower as of today.
and bushy as hell. Even the one that i topped instead of fimming (going for more of a cola versus growing for mass weight).

im going to take pictures here in a little while. i have to get stoned and get to where i wanna move first.

the fimmed clone under the hps

4 containers of 3 seedlings to the left of the main seedling box

main seedling box

4 containers of 3 seedlings to the right of the main seedling box.

a pic of the fimmed clone taken out from under the hps and put under fluros for pics.
