Growing in a 4x4 and this winter will likely. Be a cold one and not far off .

I've a heater but it's not cost effective at 2000w and a low output I may aswell just burn a pile of cash .

I've seen a few greenhouse heaters 45-160 watts .there like eco tubes .

How effective are they at throwing out heat in such a space ..... Greenhouse .... And assuming outdoors .... Must be half decent ?

Where are you growing? Basement, upstairs, etc? What kind of light are you using? What are your temperatures currently?

I have a 4x4 tent, grow in the basement (concrete floor), 600W MH & HPS light, and it dials in perfectly at 70-75 degrees when the lights are on and 65 at night when the lights are off.

We aren't heating with the wood stove yet, so I may have to run the exhaust fan slightly higher come winter when the basement is warmer, but temperatures are perfect right now without having to do a single thing.

4x4 480w led quantum board . Livingroom of my apartment . It's mildly insulated . Temps with lights off currently are 19°c there sufficient first few hours of lights off .

Its mainly a concern about the winter months as it gets down as much as 10°c in the apartment and 80-85 RH

Small quartz desk heater inside the tent. Dehumidifier for the entire apartment.

I stick one of these inexpensive oil filled heaters in my tent that's in an unheated garage. At night when the lights are on the HID provides heat. During the day when the light is off the heater kicks on. It has a built in thermostat so no need for any other equipment like a controller. Works great and I only paid $50 for it.

This winter I think I'm going to switch over to floor heating though so I can get the heater out of the tent. I've already made a raised floor in my tent.

@xtsho Do you run the lights at night and off during the day because it's less cold during the day therefor your heater won't have to work as much? (to save $ on utilities?)

Also, is the thermostat on your oil heater just the numbered dial? Maybe with a lo med high switch? Or are you able to select an actual temperature?

Ive been using lights during the day . It's been warmer at night here during the summer but I will be switching over to night . Sonyea definitely thatl help use less .

I have 2000w 3 settings adjustable thermostat .
Ive only ever used it in larger spaces not for growing purposes and it didn't throw out alot of heat .... Probably why I had always max temp .... So yea tent could be much more effective

The temperature Guage is min to max but it is adjustable

The three settings are 800w 1200w and 2000w

It actually has a feature where it will switch off and on to keep the set temperature . Once you reach the desired room temp turn it counterclockwise until you hear it click and it will switch on and off to keep that temp .

Depends how cold... I grow in a loft and I have to have a 2k heater set to half

Slowing the fan will make the heater more effective

Sorry, I was asking those questions to xtsho who commented with the photo of the heater...
I also run lights during the day so I was curious about his opposite schedule.

Sorry brother!

I couldn't imagine paying for electric heat, assuming most have NG furnce to keep the house warm.I just ran extra ducts from the furnace to my grow space.
If a furnace isnt available then go to town on insulation, money well spent.
I also will run my hps at 300 watts on really cold days.Has to be the most efficient since you get the extra light and a lot of heat for 300 watts.

Mines 1500 watts so I'm assuming the settings are 500-1000-1500. I've never had to turn it higher than low.

I use 2 of them in winter and they are great. Total of 180w. I was actually quite surprised how much heat came from 180w.
This is in a tent in a garage.
