Green Crack-Troubles Cloning

Hey all, have been growing from clones for years now. Have never had a problem perpetuating my strains until something I like better comes along. Trade genetics with several of my friends so have had a wide variety of plants and experience with different strains.

Then comes Green Crack. Smoked it and it was like lightning on the brain. When my buddy had some cuttings ready I took him some Bubba Kush and Blowfish in exchange for Green Crack, White Widow and Pandoras Box.

Everything else is rooted, in pots and growing. Green Crack just refuses to drop roots. Lost two of them a while back but still had two cuttings in. They are now getting pretty crappy looking and one has a tiny root node, but nothing visible, the other one just seems to be hanging on for dear life.

Most likely just going to throw up a hail mary and hit them with another whack of rooting hormone and throw them in the soil in hopes of catching a break.

Anyone else have this strain? Anyone else have trouble cloning it? In 6 years of growing I have never had a plant I couldn't get to clone, same conditions as all the others that rooted. I suppose this is more of a problem of bruised pride as I know I can get more cuttings to try to root but didn't know if someone here had experience with the strain and any tricks to teasing roots out of it. Any help would be welcome, thanks all.

Ive have the same issue w/ Violator Kush, it takes a looooong time to root. I grow perpetual and its a little too long for my needs. I think it comes down to genetics, I have 1 strain that roots in a few days, another that takes a week and then the VK takes forever to root.

Dont let it get you down man, its more than likely a problem on your end. Just a strain that takes a while to root.

Yeah I figured it was just being hard headed, but if alot of people have trouble cloning it then it probably wouldn't work too well into my system...unfortunately. I just never have problems cloning so I was just in shock I think. Will just keep on it and if worst comes to worst, go nab a few more.

ive cloned green crack and skunk#1. green crack is half skunk#1 and cali indica. normally i have a hard time cloning kush's and very dominant indicas but have no problems with the green crack. maybe to much air got in. i noticed you said you went and traded with your friend. i always let mine sit in water for a good 30-45 mins just to make sure. maybe try that and see if it makes a difference. but let me telly you one thing. dont give up on the green crack its very easy to grow and yields high with amazing color smell and taste with a nice hybrid high. a common misconception is that green crack is a strong sativa. its not it grows very similar to ak-47 not to tall but not to short. really packs on weight at the 4th to 5th week

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I usually soak the cuttings for a bit while I get all my prep work done(i.e.-get the razor, cloning gel, labels, etc). Most likely it just had to be difficult to remind me that I don't have everything figured out yet, had to be humbled I guess.

Yeah I love the strain, and my buddy has a really nice pheno for this particular strain, I told him that I wanted it after one hit. Thanks for the info on the breeding, I had looked but had not found its origins.

As an update I pulled the cloner out and popped the lid on it and took a good close look, one of the two remaining clones had a little bulb of roots on the backside. Not extremely long, but dense so I hit it with hormone and got it in dirt, wish me luck I am not giving this strain up.
