Green Crack - Aero - Scrog

Okay so the move was mostly a success... SMH, Here is the damage report:

-1 _6" Cool Tube (Shattered the Glass) $90 to replace
-2 _150 Watt CFL (not equiv these are the big boys) TBD how much they are to replace (trying for a warranty issue)

Damage to Girls:

1 Broken branch, shouldn't be a big deal I propped it up so it should be like an aggressive super cropping
1 Seedling Fell over and broke itself. (Dead)

Will have pictures up this week. I am still setting everything up plus We are organizing the new place. Moving is a shit load of work.

Once Everything is set. I will be popping the the Cotton Candy and working her into a mom.

Should Have my Skywalker OG's this week going into veg and the green crack will start flower as soon as she is less stressed out.

Okay... Finally got the Flower room setup for the most part. Dropped the scrog net on the girls.

Things left to do:
- Get heat in check
- Setup veg room
- Take Clones
- Prep girls for flower (trim and what not)
- Unpack rest of the house (important stuff first)


As a quick reminder:
---Homemade Aeroponic Setup---

- GH Series Nutes: Gro, Micro, Bloom, Koolbloom, Nectar, Floralicous Plus, Calmag, Superthrive, Rapid Start <These are used at different times in the plants life> , On the last run I stopped everything with nitrogen at week 3 (out of 8.5 week flower). This time I will stop at week two and try to pull closer to day 55 (I want my heart rate to race with these green cracks)

- Water Change is once a week

- Tap water top off every other day (whenever it is under the 5 gallon mark. I keep it at 7 gallons)

- PH between 5.5 and 5.8

- PPMs are currently at 1040 - 93 water start = 947 of nutes

- Temp... Still working on that

- Rh... Still working on that

Also, I will delay flower for at least a week to help them recover from the move and get used to nutes again.

(In case I didn't mention they have been on and off nutes for a month. Was trying to keep them from growing to much since the move was kind of a last minute thing and they had already vegged for a month)

It's the 600 HPS. It is low 60's here at night and my room is still in the 90's. That is when I closed everything up. I have a temporary solution until I fix my exhaust. Can't flower like this I'll some fluffy shit buds.

Flipped the lights last night so today is the real first day of flower.
I trimmed out some of the leaves under the canopy. (I may have to trim more but I've never done Scrog so I have no idea)

PH: 5.5 - 5.8
PPM's Currently = 853 (This needs to go up but I am trying something a little different - As in I stopped/ lowered all nutes with nitrogen. My head tells me this is to early to stop N. I haven't entirely cut it out I used a little Gro formula and Nectar has small amounts of Nitrogen. On my last grow I waited until the stretch stopped and felt like I could have stopped it sooner. Chances are that I should have used N all through this week and then stopped it. ***This is something I would Like comments on***)

Using Gh Series Nutes w/ Nectar, Floralicous Plus, Kool Bloom (Super Thrive, CalMag = Veg Only)

Also I just started some Skywalker OG. I have never grown this strain before but was told not to top it and let them grow. Was hoping to do SCROG but it doesn't sound like it will work. I'll probably post a question in the SCroggers Thread)

Yeah!!! Got to make some Ice Water Extract last night well at least finish it off. I followed the Matt Rize tek. Except I hand stirred gently for 10 mins. And on the second run I beat the shit out of it with a paint mixer and drill gun. Drill gun was set to the 1 setting though.

Best tip ever... Spray bottle with ice and water not just water. Makes scooping so much easier and it washes all the crap off your Ice Wax.

The starting material was some Herojuana that came down early. So I am just happy that the hash looks great and is way better smoke then the shit flower. (Man I hated that plant. Poor Genetics and prone to mites)

Just an FYI: This is how I use to make hash. This was pressed wet, etc. Basically going completely against the IWE tek. The smoke is harsh and doesn't smell nearly as good as the new method.

Yay we are now starting to stack flower sites. I expect them to grow another 2- 4 inches or so in height. Hopefully because of the scrog technique I get a ton of decent size nugs as opposed to a couple of good colas followed by larf. Although, now that I am into making hash I kind of want all that larf. lol. I guess it is just a balancing act.


On a side note for anybody wandering:
All of this is personal consumption. On average it costs me $3 - $5/ gram (Electricity is my main cost. Nutes and the sort really don't cost that much. Plus I buy gallons now so they last well over two cycles). So it's like having a cannabis membership. This is how I justify my above average electric bill to myself and the girlfriend. Plus gotta do what you love and I love taking care of my girls.


I'll be making some more hash here in the next couple of days (will be doing my combo of IWE {Thanks @Matt Rize} and Cannoli Press {Thanks @ Frenchy}). I am also in process of making an EZ cloner. I forgot to take pictures of the whole process but I will have some of the finished project and putting together the PVC and a very quick how to. These things are actually very simple once you understand aeroponics.

PPM = 840 (I am having trouble getting to 1100. I think it is because of the move. I had to slow down growth and started alternating plain water with nutes. Hopefully by next week I can get them to 1000. It is very easy to burn plants in aero. However it is also very easy to correct. So it's a love hate thing)
Nutes = GH Series; Gro, Micro, Bloom, Kool Bloom, Floralicious plus and Nectar (I also mix them in this order. Not sure if that has any affect or not. I'm just slightly OCD, lol)

Sweet it is week for which means we are about half way through the green cracks.

Something different about this grow is that I stopped N a lot earlier then last time. I now know that I should go at least into week 2. I have some leaves that are yellowing. My goal is that the leaves are yellow exactly at the time of harvest. To me this is when the plant has used every drop of energy in order to make those delicious trichs.

PPM's are about 840
Ph = 5.5 - 5.8

Some other news... I made myself an aero cloner and made some cannoli's last night. Next post will be a quick how to make an aero cloner.

You can make these things pretty much out of anything. I won't be giving sizes or anything since I really just eyeballed everything and your sizes will vary.

Basic parts (FYI - I use 1/2" PVC):
5 - Tee's
1 - Stick 1/2" PVC
4 - 90 degree elbows
4 - Caps (For Feet)
2" Net Pots
2" Neoprene Inserts
1 - 396 GPH Submersible Pump
1 - Air stone w/ Bubbler
360 degree EZ Clone Sprayers
Rubbermaid

Recommended Tools to make things easier:
- Drill Gun
- 2" hole Saw
- Sharpie (Mark your holes)
- Razor Knife (You never know what you'll need it for but you will)
- Screw and Tap Kit to fit your sprayers

Start off with a rubbermaid. I chose this size because it fits in my tent. You do not want clear as roots do not like light. Mark off points for each insert and get to drilling/ cutting.

So now it is on to the PVC and Sprayers. For my bigger units I glued them in place. During the test run I didn't see any leaks and all sprayers were at full capacity, so I didn't glue them in place. I probably went overkill on the amount of sprayers but screw it, they are like $0.17/ a piece. And more is better, lol.




Now the most important part... Test it before you use it, lol. Sounds stupid but you want to find problems before you risk a set of clones.

They are beginning to yellow a bit early. I stopped the gro formula at the start of flower and realized that was a mistake. It was week 2-3 when I realized this and it was to late to dump more nitrogen in so I just let them go. Good news is that we finally have one clone showing roots in the homemade aero cloner "LA-Z-Cloner"

Smoked a nice fat bowl of hash and I'm ready to stuff my face with food all day long. Enough ramble here are the girls:
