Green Coloured Light Bulbs

Now my plants are having 12 hours of darkness, everyday from 8.30am to 8.30pm, it's difficult to do ANYTHING during those times.
When I must do something, it involves groping around in the pitch blackness
Such as when I take the temp/RH levels 6 hours into the dark phase, each day -

I will turn off the room light, unzip the centre of the tent, precariously reach in until I feel the edge of the front, centre plant pot
then gently feel my way down its side, across to the front/right corner of the centre pot, feel my way to the back/right corner,
then feel for the hygrometer around the inside of that corner.

GREEN LIGHT BULB
I recently watched a Gorge Cervantes film where he recommended putting a GREEN BULB
into the normal light socket.
He said that the light allowed a person to see clearly enough to work within the area
but it didn't break the darkness of the plants 'sleeping hours'.

I have found some green bulbs for sale
but is there more to this than simply using a green coloured bulb?

I'd like to be able to see in the room during the plants dark hours
but I don't want to risk interrupting their sleep.

Confirmation, Clarification or Corrections appreciated.

plants absorb every color of the spectrum except green which is why we see their leaves as green. they reflect that color. in my own flower room i use a green bulb but you can also use a lighter or a cell phone light. the rule of thumb is the light shouldn't be brighter than the light cast by a full moon.

your description sounded positively erotic

getcha one of these if you wanna do night work..

but why are you checking rh in the middle of lights out?

just get a hygrometer that keeps track of hi's and lo's and you can adjust from there.

Is this your first grow?

that's a serious question.
Yes - It's my first grow.

WHY CHECK DURING DARK HOURS...?
I have a dimmer switch as a fan speed controller
It is very cold.

If I turn up the fan - RH goes down, temps go low
Fan turned down - Temps higher, RH higher.
I try to adjust to the levels.

My hygrometer shows Min/Max/Current - Temp/RH.

Next grow I hope to buy a tubular heater so fan speeds can stay high and fight humidity
without low temps being a constant worry.

AS FOR AMAZON LINK:
I'd rather just put a GREEN BULB in a lamp or even the overhead light.
Headgear and miners style lamps are a little of an overkill to my simple needs.

Never use green lights or any lights when plants are sleeping. Who ever came up with that idea is an idiot. They didn't do their research on plant lighting. Plants absorb about 20% -30% of green light. Green wave lengths drive photosynthesis by helping the plant absorb more photons in other regions. So all pigments are being used. No pigments are going dormant. Green wave lengths are the only region that is also reflected.

You are stressing your plants when you use a green light or any light while they are sleeping.
