Hey all. I've got great potential for both indoor and outdoor grow but have a few current issues that leave me undecided how to proceed. This will be my first grow, and I could really use some experienced feedback. Sorry for the long post, but I'm trying to start this in the right way. My goal is to get some bud quick and then settle in and start experimenting. I plan to grow only for personal consumption and to share with one close friend.
Background on me: This will be a new adventure for me, so I am unskilled, but I am competent and typically pick things up quickly. Also, I am very capable with tools and have a stocked shop, so I can build a nice indoor setup in time. Finally, I am the kind that when I take on a project like this, I get into it and spend much time researching and studying. That's how I found this forum.
The outdoor spot: I have chosen a nice spot on my own property in the country. It is well hidden from any direction - no way anybody wanders into it without meaning to. I will have to cut a few trees, but the spot is about 10' x 10' surrounded by trees but open to the sky. In season, it should get plenty of direct sun.
The indoor spot: In the same location, I have an old camper that I can convert into a nice indoor grow room. It will be about 10' x 5' and is rough now, but I can fix it up nicely with some framing and plywood right away.
The problem: While I could build the structure for the indoor room now, it would take me awhile to set up the lighting and everything else as funds are low right now. I will be able to get it set up right sometime in the fall, but to use it now would take a cheap-o approach with power running by extension cord. (I will run underground power sometime in June.)
The security: The spots are on my property, and my wife (bless her heart) said she trusts my judgment. No way anyone accidentally stumbles upon the spot, and in the twelve years I've lived here, I have never seen any "eyes in the sky." We do sometimes have military carrier jets fly over. The only other small leak I can think of is any smell when the meter guy comes by, but he would be about 100 yards away with my shop between.
The seeds: Right now, I have 10 regular Leda Uno seeds, 3 feminized Northern Lights x Skunk seeds, 3 feminized Lowryder Easy Ryder seeds (for the quick return), 1 feminized DNA Genetics 60-day Wonder seed, 1 feminized Burmese Kush seed, and 1 feminized Kushage seed.
I know this is a tall order, but I would appreciate any expert advice you guys can offer. Do I start outdoors and then move inside in the fall? Do I set up cheap indoors for now and then branch out in the fall? Do I set up cheap and do indoor/outdoor now? And if I set up cheap, any advice?
